I can’t get too excited over Baskins, but it’s not bad. Lots of great flavours and some interesting options. They’ll do you an ice cream sandwich between a couple warmed up cookies. Yum! It’s not a bad store with some comfy seating and the staff were friendly, and it’s about your only choice for ice cream in West End, so they definitely have that going for them.

I love B&R’s assortment and the very liberal try before you buy. The staff in this store really reinforce what I love about the west end generous, willing but laid back, I wasn’t forced into choosing an order before I’d had a chance to mull over all my options! I’m glad this place has opened up, I’ll definitely be back when I’m going past on a hot day.

It does seem the days of cheap ice cream are now the realm of convenience stores only. A 2 scooper will set you back $ 7 here. The Baskin Robbins of my childhood has gone by the wayside as they now stock more and more adventurous flavours. We’ve dropped by a couple of times now because we got vouchers in the mail 2 for 1, which made the experience a bit easier on the hip pocket. We lashed out on a regular take home pack which is $ 17 — same size as a Sara Lee in Coles being $ 7. You can choose up to 3 flavours to put in it. All the times I have been here the staff have been really friendly and not strong on hardselling, which is great. I agree it needs to get a bit more atmosphere. Pop radio isn’t the best. Check out their after midnight ice cream party flyer(on the tables in store). Crazy concept! Wonder if anyone will bite?

Thought I would give West End’s new Baskin Robbins a try as It’s recently opened. The store is of moderate size, there’s a few tables inside, and it’s extremely white — maybe a little too white? seems a bit hospitalish. It’s Chinese owned. Service was ok, the girl who served me was a definite qt although she sounded quite ill :/ I got a triple shake, admittedly it was the most I’ve ever spent on a shake in my entire life — It was ok, there was more fudge than actual shake though… As they’ve only recently opened I’m going to give them a month or two to find their feet and I’ll try them again. Hopefully now that a few bigger-name companies are opening in West End, some of the pretentious ‘artesan’ places will go under. Have a nice saturday.
