Semaphore BBQ Chickens

I’m a HUGE fan of a good chicken and chips combo. I mean, it’s CHICKEN. And CHIPS. Two delish things in their own right, and when they come together like Voltron they’re pretty much unbeatable as far as junk food goes.
I used to frequent Semaphore BBQ chickens a while back, and it was always solid. I recently returned after a substantial break in order to grab some Christmas chicken (Chrickens?), and found out that they are now under new management.
The staff were super friendly and lovely, and the chickens were good, but I was a bit bummed at the price. $ 32 for two chickens was a bit steep. I also tried chips and gravy (I had fond memories) and a friend got some hot chips. $ 6.50 and $ 4.50 respectively. Unfortunately I wouldn’t get them again. The gravy was really yum, but the chips were no good: not cooked enough and lots of oily little remnants rather than whole chips. Shame really.
Your neighbourhood chicken shop should be three things: fast, cheap and tasty. I could only really give them solid points for fast and friendly service.
