It was one of the best breakfast I had this year, everything was well presented and taste as good. The only let down was the service was a bit slow even though the café was pretty small but I’ll be back for the breakfast board for sure.

Excellent and attentive service, coupled with great décoré, yummy food, great coffee and atmosphere. New favorite gem of place for brunch. Pumpkin pancakes, may sound a bit weird, but the flavours work amazingly together. Food was prompt and so was the friendly staff. Great balance of upmarket coffee shop, good quality food for a great price.

This is one of our new local coffee shops having just moved up to the opposite end of Richmond. I had been here before we moved and thought it was so so(mostly because of an unpleasant staff incident we witnessed rather than the coffee or food), but having tried it out again(and again and again) it’s really grown on me! The coffee is consistently good. The food is delicious(I’ve had the porridge and the Middle Eastern eggs so far). And the service is really friendly and efficient. Love the fit out and the delicacies in the takeaway cabinet look mouth-watering-ly good, so I will be sampling those at some point also! Popular with the Epworth hospital crew it is also busy and bustling so can be a bit of a wait for takeaway coffee but they handle it really well. Highly recommend!

Pretty good, but not my fave from what Melbourne has to offer. I went with a friend for my birthday lunch. I had the fried chicken burger(which is topped with slaw and hot sauce, and includes two slabs of chicken) and I thought it was just so-so. My friend had the corn fritters with a side of cured salmon, and I actually preferred his dish over mine. His corn fritters dish included a creamy corn sauce(almost like a chowder) and made for an excellent dip to my second piece of chicken — the restaurant should consider mixing the two! Overall, ambience and coffee were nice. Food was a lot less memorable. Waiters are awfully cute and attentive!

Great service and great coffee. Lovely modern décor. We shared a sandwich and a cake from the cabinet and both were delicious. No complaints.

Great coffee, well-designed interior, delicious food(fantastic quinoa salad). The whole meal felt like an «experience»(which is hard for a café to do). Staff was great with making recommendations and dealing with a random food allergy. It’s a bit of a trek from our place, but we wouldn’t hesitate to make it there again.

Best coffee on Bridge Rd. This has been the stand out café for the last 6 mths. The café is all wood and a little sterile but sitting under an umbrella on the footpath is a great way to spend a sunny Sunday morning. Regardless, try the coffee. Well worth the effort.

Great croissants do not make up for the worst service we have ever recieved in Melbourne. The staff was surly, unpleasant, and downright rude. My husband approached the counter and tried to order a coffee. He was given a sharp glare from the barista and instructed to order«over there» in a gruff voice. Ordering also proved to be problematic: Hubs ordered a long black but was handed an espresso(short black). When he informed the waitress of the mistake she sighed heavily and threw him some serious shade. «I have an accent, maybe that’s why you misunderstood», Frenchie said to her. She just gave him a petulant stare and re-made the drink. As we waited for the drink to be ready a woman stood up and accidentally ran into one of the waitresses. The woman apologised and was met with a loud«HUFF» by the waitress who then proceeded to flounce over to her co-worker where they shared a loud bitching session about what a drip the customer was and«can you believe she ran into me?» Apparently the croissants here are some of the best in Melbourne. But there is no excuse for mean, unprofessional, and downright hostile treatment from staff. The owner of Fifty Acres needs to seriously reconsider either replacing a good portion of his staff or giving them some serious beef regarding their treatment of customers. We were on our way to my surgery at Epworth, which is why I didn’t order anything myself, and the encounter at Fifty Acres made a stressful experience even worse.

I love this place. It’s certainly overdue for this nook of Bridge Road, where really your only comparable option is the tried-and-true Richmond Hill Café Larder. They serve up Dukes coffee and a complex, but approachable, menu. The Dukes is particularly notable. I’m really a fan of their coffee and it easily makes this the best option in the area. They also do quite a good pour over. I’ve had great success here for lunch and breakfast. On one particularly hungover occasion I went for their full breakfast, which was spectacular(and much needed). Inside is a minimal fit out. Concrete combined with wood and a retro-inspired kids-mobile style chandelier. Others have mentioned the blonde-wood chairs, which I always note too. Despite looking great, they look like they’re uncomfortable, but are surprisingly cozy. I’m also a fan of their teapots; a nice piece of crockery will a traditional handle on the side. Despite being a reasonable size, they haven’t crammed in the tables. They do have seating out on the footpath, but overall this is a small café. This means you’ll get a queue for weekend brunch.

One of the best coffees I have had on Bridge Road to date. There’s an interesting menu with the brunch favourites and a few more interesting options, like the breakfast burrito that I had — which was delicious and I would recommend. Prices were reasonable and the size the meals was generous, a nice surprise. There was several interesting vegetarian options for breakfast and the lunch menu looked cool. The only downer was paying the bill. No bill splitting, which isn’t unusual, it was the attitude of the staff member who shrugged and looked annoyed when we all had large notes or cards. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t written on the menu so who was to know? Service shouldn’t end when you are paying a bill.
