I’ve been playing in the indoor soccer league in the sports hall of Melbourne Girls College for a number of seasons now on a Thursday evening. There are 4 leagues of varied ability from woeful (yet very social) to quite a high standard. Games go from 6 – 10. Here is a run-down of the experience.
Positives:
— great facilities
— friendly atmosphere
— competitive games
— well organised
Negatives:
— run like a business (playing a playoff for teams finishing 5 – 8 can only be a money making exercise)
— 6pm games hard to get to
— tackling from behind rule is very annoying
