This place is a great addition to Sydney’s cultural life. It’s run by a bunch of amazingly creative volunteers who put on exhibitions and workshops that are very unique and educational. To give an example, until 11 September they’re running ‘Life Drawing’ classes, where for $ 15, you sit with a pen and a pad and sketch the naked model posing in front of you — I’ve been twice, once for an Elite event and the second time with a couple of artistic friends, and was impressed by both the professionalism of the models and the uniqueness of the experience. Even my friends, who make a living from pushing their creative boundaries, hadn’t had an experience like it before. They’re running other events over the coming month, such as Reclink Kaleidoscope, which is an exhibition that’ll showcase the work of people experiencing homelessness or marginalisation, and Kino, which will give budding filmmakers a platform to share their work. I’ll definitely be attending both and suggest if you’re keen on cranking up your creativity, that you do too.

Great event space for many functions. I was here for the Kino short film festival and have been pleasantly surprised by the versatile space. There’s a small bar at the gallery where they usually serve food or drinks for events. Check on the website for details of events happening here!

This is as good as community gets. Hell yeah Redfern. A big, modular, multi-space community art collective and performance space, the 107 Projects are young, fun and they’re mad sick collaborators, working with OG players from the City of Sydney to HoboGrow, which repurposes old pallets as home herb gardens. I’ve rocked out to bands here, drank eggnog and made Christmas cards, painted Unilocal tote bags, and perused art shows making lots of knowledgable ‘Mmmm’ noises like I knew my Monet from my. .. other artist starting with M. Every suburb needs a place like this, so important to that proper community vibe.

An interesting arts and cultural hub. A Sydney based art space for artists and art lovers alike. All« Unilocalers»(Elites or not) got invited to the opening of 107 Projects on Saturday the 8th of September. The turnout was amazing. There was the Unilocal BBQ and I has a sausage sandwich that was adequate for $ 3. My sausage was a bit hot and the onions were served in abundance. You could help yourself to as much sauce as you wanted. My bread was falling apart. Entering this arts and cultural hub, the senses began to delight and the hour or so of fun began. The gate looked like a welcoming wedding ceremony. Creativity at its best. I came to the hub where the Unilocal family was located. Time to bring out the paint and the paint brushes. Mixing colours was also enjoyed. I was really happy with this loving life street, or rather seascape that was created on those Unilocal shopping bags. Ben and Angela were dressed in red«I Love Unilocal» t-shirts, and it was also great to see Rachel again :) All of us had fun at the paints hub… all thanks to Unilocal for sponsoring this special day. Sydney based magician BennyO also brought our a few laughs where the kids eagerly assisted him. His magical tricks are just so cool. A great half an hour perched on a lounge in the theatre. Time fairly well spent. Thanks again for the magic Unilocal :)
