Social Brew

Menu looks amazing just steer clear of the beef short ribs. My partner had the Chicken pumpkin and feta salad on flat bread and really likes it. I chose poorly with the beef short ribs which were fatty and chewy. I shared with the staff yet they said we will tell the kitchen nothing happened. Great beer selection and wines reasonable. I’d go back but would steer away from the slow roasted meats.

Ok… so if you know me at all, you know that I rarely deviate from French Toast for breakfast, or Brekkie Well today I swerved and got the Ricotta Hotcakes. Oh My GOSH!!! One of the best decisions I’ve made. Right up there with marrying Spencer but really it was GOOD!!! There was a disc-​like contraption on top hiding under a strawberry. I thought it was banana soaked in something green. So I was brave and popped it in my mouth. It was creamy and delish. I looked back up on the board and noticed that it was pistachio butter Whoever came up with that combination is a GENIUS!!! It was soooo good!!! If you are in Sydney you MUST come here and have their ricotta Hotcakes. You really must! Oh, the hubs had the Eggs Benedict and it was really good too

Food was fresh, reasonably-​sized, and the staff were friendly and responsive. I’m sure I’ll be back to give them another try next time I’m in town.

Step1: Go to the Social Brew with high expectations.
Step 2: Order ANYTHING off their menu.
Step 3: Relish the deliciousness with no chance of being disappointed :)
Repeat.

Great energy and always alert staff, indoor and outdoor seating in cozy and stylish location. Great vegetarian and vegan choices, strong coffee and fresh juices.

I was in Sydney for the weekend and came here twice because it was so good. Friendly service. Excellent coffee. Eggs benedict with smoked salmon was delicious and their brekky roll was amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back here when I get the chance.

Brekkie Board: Straight up amazing, loved the fact you could make your own little combinations on the board. Really delicious.
Wagyu Beef Burger: My partner had this and he loved it more than he loves me

This was the first restaurant we ate at upon flying in from the U.S. Very impressed with the food. A little unclear that it is not self seating and that you have to get up and pay. We grabbed some coffee drinks, an iced espresso and a flat white which were both very good. I had the wagyu burger and my significant other had the ricotta hot cakes. We both loved our food and would come again!

Wow. This is it. This is the place to go.
Turned up for breakfast after reading all the reviews and they weren’t lying. Great coffee. Attentive and friendly staff. Food to die for. Location that’s perfect for people watching (hey, we all need hobbies).
All of us are completely satisfied with what we had fire brekkie, and so reasonably priced too! Forget the rest, this is the best. Run don’t walk. Very on down to the best place in town. You can come up with your own catchy slogan from here.

I’ve only ever had the coffees and once I had a peanut butter milk shake. The coffee is always perfect and the peanut butter milkshake was excellent. I do always see other people eating breakfast and lunch and it smells and looks amazing.

This place is awesome. Very relaxed atmosphere, extremely quick service, and the meal was on point.
I had their flat white and The Social Brekkie roll. Interesting with the mix of savory and sweetness on the Brekkie Roll.
Will be coming back here for sure!

Yum! Went here for lunch, and now I’m a fan. I went for lunch on a Tuesday, and fortunately there were plenty of seats available.
I ordered the fried chicken with slaw and it was amazing! The skin was crispy and flavorful, while the meat was tender and juicy. This is some of the best fried chicken I’ve had in Sydney. Really good.
My brother ordered the wagyu burger, he said it was good, too. (Didn’t give me a bite: P so I’ll have to take his word for it.)
Friendly service as well. Food came out pretty fast. Will definitely go back to try the other dishes! :D

This place was just what we wanted– simple menu each dish still had full effort put into it. I got a breakfast sandwich with mushrooms on the side and a flat white. Speedy service too. Highly recommend and would return when in Sydney again!

Great brunch and fresh pressed juices. The service was quick and we didn’t have to wait for a seat. It was a short walk from our hotel near Darling Harbour. The reviews did not lie and the food did not disappoint. Will be back again the next time we’re in Sydney!

I went there once, and every time since the owner has recognised me and greeted me like the long lost son he may or may not have.
He’s quick with a joke, and he’d light up my smoke if I did indeed smoke and you were still allowed to do so inside, which you aren’t. Just straight up one of the best cafes going around, for the fun & friendly service, the chilled out vibe — nobody’s in a hurry, some people are punching away at their laptops, there’s outdoor seating and it looks out onto a little park — and the superb food — delicious, creative brekky, brunch and lunch fare. The acai smoothie is a total superfood win, and you gotta try the breakfast board, it’s healthy and it has soldiers you can dip into your googy egg. Soldiers you guys!
The smoked salmon flatbread is the business the pulled pork and fennel salad is the business, and the burger is the business. In fact this whole business is the business, I can totally vouch.

Mmmm brunch :) I rate this place 4.5! Food was phenomenal, great value, and very sociable indeed.
Food (⁵⁄₅): I got the Roast Pumpkin and Almond Peston on Flatbread. It was unique, and all the tastes of the different ingredients meshed together reallllly well. Portions were more than enough! it was very filling, and it didn’t feel like a «gross» full or the «why did I decide to chug all that down» full… it actually felt like a «healthy» full because it was mainly the pumpkin that made me full :) I loved the carmelized onions and the pesto that went with the pumpkin– very fitting.
I also got to take a bite out of the Social Brekkie Roll. Really good! Definitely better than an average roll. The bun was very soft and fresh.
Drinks (⁴⁄₅): I tried the chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel smoothies. Didn’t get to try the coffee because I wasn’t in a coffee mood… Nevertheless, the smoothies were pretty good! I liked the portion (it was served in a cute mason jar). It was just enough to satisfy my smoothie craving and not go over the point of «I’m done with this smoothie because I’m sooo bloated».
Service (⁴⁄₅): Friendly staff! Extremely busy though.
Atmosphere (4.5÷5): Loved the open space. There were open windows everywhere, and the sunlight filled up the whole place. Bob Marley music was enjoyable, and everyone was there to not just eat, but to socialize. Perfect brunch atmosphere :)
Misc (⁵⁄₅): Great value and prices for what I’m getting. Great location too! It’s located at the corner of a street that’s not too busy. Plenty of outdoor seating.

I came expecting a traditional brunch, and ended up instead getting a healthy, fresh plate of bread, tomato, cheese, egg, prosciutto and the like.
It was a surprise and it was pleasant and it was delicious. I think I’m done with eggs benedict for the rest of my life.
It’s a shame I don’t live in Sydney. Or in Australia. Or in the southern hemisphere for that matter. Because if I did, I would be a regular at the Social Brew. But alas, being in the northern hemisphere makes it a bit challenging.

Bob Marley, baked eggs, and a strong brew. It doesn’t get much better than this.
I come here semi regularly when visiting our other office. It’s the first time I’ve eaten here though, and it was sensaysh.
Baked eggs on a bed of bullhorn pepper beans, congealing together in a gooey love hug, that on a drizzly dreary day makes u feel all warm ‘n’ fuzzy inside.
The spicy sausage on the side added the seasoned contrast, whilst the toast soldiers provided crunch and took me back to childhood smiles.
The dbl mac was strong and rich and woke me the hell up. The long black just added some more leaded to the engine.
All in all a top visit. I’ve never had anything but a great experience here.

I’ve had the pumpkin, the free-​range fried chicken, and the wagyu burger since and none of those have disappointed… the fried chicken might be on the expensive side with the number of pieces you get but it’s still really tasty.
The wagyu burger is really good… it actually surprised me and I will definitely be getting this again and rate it as one of the better burgers in Sydney. The carmelised onions are a nice touch, the bun was soft and the meat tender.
Do yourself a favour and get a peanut butter shake as well…
