This little fruit and veg store is taking a risk being right next door to a Coles Supermarket. To do well against competition like that you have to be pretty good.
Thankfully this place IS pretty damn good.
Every time I’ve been there the quality of the produce has been great. There are no crappy dried up seconds, no pieces of fruit that you pick up and think «ugh». It seems a reasonable amount of care has been taken to make sure everything on display is presentable.
There are some nice little packages selections at the front of the store with soup and salad vegetables. I’m one of those people who likes to just buy my soup veg separately. It’s nothing against them, I just like to add a bit of this and leave out a bit of that.
I prefer to go to this place and the butchers a little further down, then get all the other bits and pieces at Coles. It isn’t a bit store, but it really is a fresh store.
