It’s the sort of place you may visit, or stroll past a few times and sorta get the gist of what’s going on. Then when you enter It’s a bigger space of great fruit and veg, that is definitely worth a shopping trip. It also has a juice bar of kinds if you’re getting tempted and wish to have something immediately. Basically one of it’s strengths is that the store is removed from a lot of prepackaged and processed stuff. There’s the odd item here and there. But far more healthy options.

Some of the freshest produce around, along with lots of great little deli items to stock your fridge with. The best thing though? The juice bar! Think of any fruit and veggie combination and they’ll whip it up for you with a little ice and send you on your way feeling healthy and virtuous.

This little fruit market is oddly placed right next to all night dance club revolver, although maybe it that could work in their advantage — drunken partiers heading home and needing something to fill their bellies. Revolver patrons aside Surace Fresh has a very good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables at prices significantly lower than the supermarkets. It’s hard not to be drawn in through the open doors with tempting tropical fruits like mangoes, peaches, strawberries and pineapple lining the walkway, Surace Fresh also has a cool area where you can pick up meats and seafood, Asian groceries and on the other side of the store dried fruits and tasty roasted nuts. It is hard to access Surace Fresh if your driving as parking on Chapel Street is a nightmare, your best bet is either walking or catching the old 79 tram all the way down.

Surace Fresh is a great little grocer and fruiterer where if you have the time amongst the shopping you should head in to get some fresh fruits and vegetables. The only problem is that it’s in a fairy inconvenient position on Chapel St being hard to park close and just quickly nip in to get some food. It’s also very close to the Prahran Market so might lose a few more customers due to that and the fact it’s much easier to get in and out of there as well. They have got a great store though, with some good price cuts and it’s always very fresh and all looks really good walking past.
