Effekt … Der Moment wo du sagt, wenn du jetzt sterben solltest, dann hast du alles richtig gemacht! Aber nun gut ;-) dann ziehe ich halt nochmals etwas weiter… und irgendwie passt gerade das Lied hier aus der Box von Rihanna: «I want you to stay» — mach ich ;-)

I went to this place a couple times while in SYD. It was good for morning coffee and breakfast, very low key and chill. Service/food/coffee all great!

Found this café via other reviews on Unilocal. We were a group of 15 without a booking(very annoying in hospitality terms) The staff were SO accommodating in moving tables and other patrons to get us seated. We then realised we were stretched for time and advised the staff of this. They did a BRILLIANT job in getting the food and drinks out to us very quickly. The food — the food was delicious, no one had a compliant at all about the service or food. I got the peach crepes with a side of mushrooms — had never had crepes like this and would be back for more. As for the shrooms, they were so good and flavoursome, I now wish I had added holumi to the mix too. Thanks so much for being so accommodating to a group of post hens night ladies. Will be back for sure!

Good option for healthy start of the day. The Dukkah egg is nice, but unfortunately my eggs were a bit overcooked. So did my friend’s & The place wasn’t even that busy to cook the proper ones. The place and atmosphere is nice, but need to do something on that whit wall inside. Have ever heard of Black&White dots illusion? It actually made us dizzy to look at it, we thought we got sunstroke! May be hang a few little plants to cover would be nice. So for others, unless you’re keen to try this effect, I suggest you sit outside if it’s not too hot out. :)

As long as I am rolling with the poached egg thing, I can tell you that Café Dov does it right. Farm fresh eggs poached by angels and brought down from Heaven right to your table. Sydney is blessed with so many delicious eateries, but this spot will always have a special place in my heart.

Oh no! One of my fav brunch places has been officially ruined! Dov used to the place for all the fabulous people — bit of talent watching, great service, reliable coffee, amazing brunch and hilariously catty(and hot) gay waiters. And now? Oh dear, no dear. About two weeks ago I went in and the place was a ghost town. Very strange because normally you have to wait for a table! Same menu though but all the staff gone. Perhaps just an off day? I tried again today and the place was being officially«relaunched» — or more correctly, it was being launched off a cliff. It was a Fawlty Towers mess. New menu(brunch plummeting to the average — even the delicious sourdough was gone!), all new staff who seemed to have never worked in hospitality before and the service was appalling(brunch become a 2 hour affair!). The people next to us left because they got sick of waiting, and the people on the other side had their order done incorrectly so many times the manager had to come out to grovel an apology. To make the fail even more comical, the whole interior wall has been replaced with this white, dotted material. My friend said he was getting dizzy from it, which I presumed was an overreaction, but sure enough when I swapped seats I ended up getting a bloody headache as my eyes tried to focus! Seriously did nobody think to sit in the seats and check this before they opened?! So sad to see this place go to shyte. Hopefully somebody else picks up the slack nearby as the magic combo of great food, service and atmosphere is hard to find.

We have been there quite a few times and it were all pretty okay, as we live close. The most recent brunch visit was a really terrible experience. The plant in the garage open space were not so many as before, and tables were not so clean, to start with. The ladie who served us was obviously lack of self control or whatever, she was either cold and ignored us, or being overly enthusiam and talked really loud like we had hearing problems. The food was plain although big portion, as always, and coffee were actually good. But both my friend and I had diarrhea right after finishing breakfast. Will never visit again.

Agreed with the reviews of other Unilocalers — A great option in Potts point ! Super friendly staff, like really really lovely :-) we came in at 5 with a pram and they really did their best to accomodate us ! Breakfast menu with a few specials and lunch from 12pm — large servings and tasty dishes ! I loved the corn fritters, fresh and well seasoned. Chai tea and cold pressed juice was lovely too.

The food was great! The serving sizes were huge with a worth price! However, wasn’t so fond of the Japanese Green Tea.

AMAZING find in Potts Point. This place really has it all– great service, great range of coffee choices that will fit any fussy Eastern Suburbs resident(decaf, soy, almond), substantial portions and lots of great menu options. I went with a table of 7 and didn’t mind waiting 15 minutes for a table– there’s a ton of seating inside so if you’re in a small group you probably won’t have a problem walking in and grabbing a table on the weekend but I would allow some wait time if you’ve got a group of more than 4 as this place is popular! Half of the group went with the dukkah eggs while half went with the corn fritters, and although these portions are LARGE by Sydney standards, there wasn’t a crumb left on the table! The dukkah eggs are a refreshing take on breakfast as it’s essentially jazzing up the standby avo/egg/toast game with some great dukkah seasoning and fresh hummus. Add some bacon and you’ll be in heaven. The corn fritters got rave reviews from my friends, and the friend who got the scandinavian breakfast(essentially salmon eggs benedict) loved the hollandaise sauce so much she used her leftover sauce as butter on some toast. Will definitely make this go-to for breakfast and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

I went here for brunch today. The service was very good — the crew has an easy smile and«switched on» in terms of what’s on the menu. The ambience was very good too — unpretentious & relaxed, the chair was comfortable, & the table clean, stable and adequately loaded(salt, pepper, sugar, the works). The food I tried was the Dukkah Eggs. I don’t have a point of reference on what an ideal Dukkah Eggs should taste, smell & look like but I liked the version I had. The flat white I had with the eggs was well prepared. This place really deserves 5 stars, and I highly recommend that you try this place. I hope this place find ways to improve where possible, and maintain that level of quality. I will return here and keep an eye on the quality. In the mean time, Kudos!

I can’t really give this place a great review. I have been there a few times and things take their time to be delivered to the table. I once waited 45mins for breakfast(big breakfast) and the order was wrong. The walnut and raspberry bread costing $ 13 with ricotta was dry. The coffee is good though and staff are friendly.

Look I’m not here to post any kind of flashy critique about the Sydney brunch scene, frankly I’m not qualified but what I can tell you is this. I eat here all the time and I order an egg white omelette which is always super generous in its portion size, sautéed mushrooms which always have some unexpectedly delightful flavor(last time it’s was lemon and herb and this time it’s some sort of teriyaki extravagance) Turkish toast with butter and Vegemite and an iced coffee. I leave feeling like the happiest man alive. And not to leave out the fact that the service is always great. That’s all I can tell you but from this humble diners perspective it’s more than enough.

One of my favorite brunch spots in Sydney. Beautiful food. I almost always opt for the Scandinavian — with poached eggs and sans the hollandaise. Delicious produce… Coffee is great and the café also has a great selection of herbal teas. The only negative is that the café is quite small and so busy that you often feel rushed and cannot properly relax. Nevertheless definitely worth a visit!

I came here a few weekends ago with my friend and boyfriend as I had seen that they great review on Unilocal. It was actually pretty packed when we got there but we managed to grab a table outside in the side patio they have. I ordered a flat white and the corn fritters, my boyfriend ordered the Scandinavian, and my friend orders the muesli. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t try to muesli as I don’t consider it to be delicious enough and I prefer to order things I can’t necessarily throw together at home. Therefore, I probably wouldn’t even be a good judge of whether or not it was worth coming back for. For the other too, I thought the good was really delicious. I don’t love salmon but tried the Scandinavian and it was a relatively large portion. However, the corn fritters were delightful. I’ve had some corn fritters that taste too much like pancakes but these were awesome. I’d definitely come back here because if like to try the Vego. Only big drawback was I thought it was a bit overpriced. My meal was 18.5 us an additional 4 Dollars if I wanted to add bacon.

I must confess. I was sorely tried by the lack of good food in Sydney. I was pleasantly surprised by the corn fitters here. The piquant red sauce drizzled on top made the dish. This is the best food I’ve had in Australia.

I don’t know at what point it can technically be called a religion, but the Sydney brunch scene can definitely provide you a religious experience on your weekend mornings. I would not be surprised to hear that someone saw the face of god in a plate of Bill’s hotcakes in Darlo, or in a plate of anything Trio’s in Bondi is serving — so let’s just say the bar is pretty high. And I am all about fried vegetables for breakfast so was excited to give Dov’s corn fritters($ 18) a go. From my experience at Dov though, their fritters are only for the most hard core savory palate. To my tastes, they seemed thick and overdone — more like a heavy, savory corn dog stuffed with a baked corn pudding topped with tomato jam — rather than the balanced sweet/salty crispy meal I had in mind. Don’t get me wrong, it’s ok for what it is, but it’s not going to please everyone. Everything else about Dov, the great ambiance, bustling atmosphere, great customer service and my perfectly cooked egg make me think that the menu is worth further exploration.

Oh hello delicious corn fritters. My best tips for this place are to go for brunch have the corn fritters(SOGOOD) with either bacon or salmon. Also sit outside in the little garden area in the back. Inside is way too busy and noisy, but outside is just perfect. More of a sunny weather venue, than rainy days for that reason. Service is especially friendly, even when they are busy and might be a bit slower. Always have had a really lovely time here. They’re also on Instagram, Twitter and all the rest of the interwebz and actually update — so geek bonus points for that I guess.

In one of my favourite areas of Sydney this little café come veg garden come«hip place to be seen» is my new all day brunch hangout when in Sydney. No idea what DOV stands for but I reckon it probably means something like Do go here if you are an Omnivore looking for a Viciously good experience… I literally went here on my first day in Sydney and returned the day after because of my love for this place. Day 1) A Ginger Fizz with scrambled eggs on rye with avocado(that was supposed to be my light meal because I had technically just eaten breakfast) Do have the ginger fizz, it’s not hairy, or red and you’ll get your mouth smacked with wonderful dollops of ginger and mint. Day 2) Soy latte with poached eggs on rye with smoked salmon and avocado(I’m a simple woman) Do have anything on rye with eggs here. Eggs are cooked perfectly(fluffy and creamy) and are that beautiful farm egg yellow. Great service, lovely hang out and if you can get a spot in the garden out back do. It makes for a great«spot the basil,» or «find the passion fruit plant» game.

Yeh Dov’s back to where it once was. It sort of went downhill a bit for a while when Ursula and her crew moved out but now Tim and his crew are into the swing of things its a hot ticket once more. I wonder if there was another owner in between maybe. Great food with a good selection on the menu, you’ve got all the breakfast staples you need and for a pro tip the Corn fritters are an absolute delight of the ages. Good coffee all rolled out with good table service. Courtyard out the back is nice used to just be a parking pot with the dunnies but they’ve really made it a cool spot to sit and chill. I used to hate the acoustics in the place I have hearing problems due to an ridiculous penchant when I was younger for listening to heavy metal whilst I sleep I suspect, but they seemed to have calmed slightly maybe the furnishings are defusing the sounds. I’ve taken my parents for a BYO dinner here, they loved it my friends love it and its a solid choice for your breakfast, brunch, dinner, high tea, supper needs. Good Day.
