I have been visiting Kamil’s barber shop whenever i need a haircut. They just cut it the way i like. Some barbers chop your hair like they are chopping a sheep hair but here at Kamil’s, i am fully satisfied with their work. When i first got there, Kamil — the owner of the two shops(carillion and plaza arcade), asked me if i could design their website. I designed their website in 2009 and redesigned it in 2012 to follow the latest technologies. I had the pleasure of creating web presence for them + i have made a really good friend.

I had spent the greater part of my day wandering around the city trying to find a hairdresser who would cut my hair and trim my beard for less than the cost of a mugging. Because that’s what most hairdressers do in this country: they cut your hair and then hold their scissors to your jugular while you fork over an obscene amount of money. They groom you, then they fleece you. When, occasionally, they don’t do this, they won’t touch your facial air. Australian hairdressers could learn something from New York barbershops. The boys at Kamil’s appear to have done just that. They offer decent haircuts at decent prices and, although I still think that they charge too much for a full shave, at least they don’t have any qualms about getting their hands on your whiskers. A style cut and a beard trim set me back thirty-five dollars – still more than I would have paid my Uzbek-Jewish barber on the Upper West Side, perhaps, but more than reasonable when compared to the outlandish sixty-dollar options I was faced with almost everywhere else I looked. Most importantly, I liked the haircut, and have continued to like it since I had it.(You know how sometimes you like a haircut for the first twenty-five minutes after you’ve had it and then suddenly realise that you’ve been fleeced in another, more terrifyingly literal way? That didn’t happen.) Kamil apparently claims that«See you next time!» is the store’s trademark. It isn’t, of course, but the claim makes sense. There were plenty of guys in line when I was there, and I’ll bet that more than a few of them were second– or third-time customers. Next time I need a haircut and a shave, I’ll more than likely be among them.
