LETDOWN. Took 15 minutes to flag someone for drinks. Touched table which was filthy. HAIRONCUP(withheld walking out at this point). Two pastas(ravioli & bolognese) came out within 2 minutes. 100% convinced reheated as hard/crusty Parmesan sprinkles on top. Both pastas stuck together as if plated up days ago or glued?! Cut ravioli in half to find white uncooked pasta. Desert sounded great but would rather invest in a Cadbury egg then here.

Altough early arrivial and straight in at 4.00pm on Sunday the place was very noisy. Mainly the music which if turned down a level would have improved ambience. Locked into a six person booth I found myself a little claustrophobic. Loved the general décor and industrial lighting with addition of gorgeous chandelier My Salmon special was well cooked and presentation fine. Dessert was very tasty as was the others on my table. All our coffees were like water — Very disappointing. Glad I went as I loved Jamie’s in Stratford England. Will I go again? Possibly.

The food has always been good but I really recommend Jamie’s for their outstanding service. EVERYSINGLETIME we have gone it has been impeccable, especially when it comes to dining with children. They really cater for families and the staff always welcome the kids as opposed to ignoring them like most places do.

Went here for my mums birthday in November as it’s one of her favourite places in the city. When looking at the menu we had noticed that they had taken away the entrée sized option for the pasta dishes and now you can only get it in a main serve — a little bit disappointing but what can you do, their pastas are amazing anyways. The specials of the day was a seafood risotto and a christmas special of porchetta with potatoes and fennel(the dish my mum tried) it was delicious and full of flavour. My partner got the rigatoni pomodoro pasta $ 19.90 — Sweet tomato sauce, garlic, basil, mascarpone, mozzarella, pecorino & crunchy, herby breadcrumbs. This was amazing a definite go to pasta dish at this place. For me I had tried the aged grain-fed hanger steak $ 32 — 250g butcher’s steak with grilled portobello mushrooms, gremolata, balsamic onions & baby watercress. But to be honest I was a little bit disappointed as the meat was a bit chewy(I had ordered this medium — but it was a bit over) should of had it medium rare. And it was just overloaded with the mushrooms placed around the meat, it wasn’t even cooked — just raw mushrooms. So I didn’t enjoy my lunch very much, should’ve stuck with the pasta. For dessert which there is always room for my partner and i shared the chocolate & hazelnut arctic roll $ 11 — Chocolate sponge rolled with chocolate & espresso semi freddo, served with chocolate shavings & butterscotch sauce. Very delicious on what was a very hot day. My mum had the baked chocolate cheesecake $ 12 — Rich dark chocolate cheesecake with candied pistachios, spiced orange & topped with shavings of dark chocolate. She loved it but it was very rich.

Great experiance. I went there with my 3 month old baby to meet a freind who was bringing her 3 children(8, 11&12). The staff we very accomodating of us even when my pram was squishing them at one of their stations. Great service. Starter breads we divine. We shared most of the meals, 1st being the special brushetta which had blue cheese, panchetta, ricotta spinich. This was one of the best starters I have had. Seafood pasta was good. My main was the salmon salad, which unfortunatly came out with no salmon. The waiter fixed this problem in no time. I wasnt much of a fan of the salmon salad, but the flavours were unique and just not my thing(I forgot my glasses!!). In all was a great experiance.

My friend and I decided to hit up Jamie’s on a Friday night after work. We didn’t make a booking, so waited at the bar which was no inconvenience to us at all. We enjoyed the vibe and a few drinks while a table opened up. I had the Beef and Spinach Agnolotti which hit the spot. The only negative was that there wasn’t more! I was quite hungry, so I ordered the Brownie for dessert. So good! We left full and satisfied.

Overall a lovely meal, however the food had its ups and downs. Mum volunteered to go and get us in the queue, and they called us 45 min later or so. The serving staff were wonderful — very friendly, knew what they were talking about and were happy to find out about options for the garlic/onion allergy(understandably a real challenge in many italian restaurants!). The arancini were nice, but not nice enough that I would order again, the fried olives were enjoyed, and the squid was lovely. The ossobucco lamb looked a bit small, but was delicious and I think filling, my squid pasta was nice, but lacking a bit of ‘oomph’, the prawn pasta(made without garlic) had a slightly odd flavour, leaving the special pumpkin ravioli with burnt butter sauce as the stand-out main — I would order that if I were to go again. Get the brownie for dessert. I don’t even really like brownie and it won me over.

Fail. Again. My wife’s work Christmas lunch was booked well in advance. As usual a flurry of activity at the start before decending into chaos. I must state that the actual meals were pre-ordered but still they brought out the main part of the dishes without any vegetables or accompanying sides, not just for one person but everybody. By the time you can get anybody to come back to the table and then wait ages to get the other half of your meal, you’ve eaten it. Then you have a small plates of veggies to get through on their own. Staff were apologetic and offered free drinks, but as most people had to go back to work or drive there is only so much soda you can drink. This is bullshit Jamie. Not good enough

What happened?!? I was excited when this opened and hit the place hard with multiple visits. Now almost 2 years on its evolved into poor service/less options/more expensive disappointment. Food we ordered was delicious however the portions were pretty small and the prices were up. The service was terrible. The person attending our table never looked our way when walking past so we asked for help from other staff who did and she seemed jilted. Sorry dear you just were not there! I used to love this place and promoted it incessantly. However I have found new favourites any time I need an Italian fix.

We arrived around 5 and were seated outside. At least we got a seat but the outside seating isn’t very nice because your in the middle of a busy road, foot path and the queue. They have a good value kid menu. We ordered kids burgers, kids pasta, a waygu beef special and prawn pasta. The burgers and prawn pasta were quite good. The waygu was awful. It looked pink but tasted very well done with none of the marbling you expect from waygu, it was nicely presented.

I have been to Jamie’s Italian a few times now and I was dazzled when I first went, but that shine has worn off a bit now. We went for a Friday dinner and were seated promptly but the service dropped off after that. Our drink order was taken quickly but we waited a rather long time for the drinks to arrive. Dinner was nice and it is reasonably priced, but it is nothing to write home about. I had the salmon and it was cooked very well. My husband had the burger and he did enjoy it but pointed out that for $ 21 it was not nearly as good as the one at Rockpool where the Minderoo burger will only set you back $ 18. It is a bustling place and quite fun and I do love Jamie’s philosophy on food, but I think I won’t be back again in a hurry.

Jamie’s Italian is somewhere you should try at least once, it’s simply one of those places and experience it for yourself. However I have had mixed experiences here and so I cannot give a strong recommendation; when it’s good it’s typical very good fresh pasta, good service and reasonable. Unfortunately I have also had some bad service being ignored when the place was not even busy, and being served cold spaghetti after long wait(my guess was it was rushed when I complained they had forgotten my order).

We began our Jamie’s experience by ordering some drinks. I selected the Florence Fizz($ 16.50), which contained Limoncello, pomegranate juice, elderflower cordial and Prosecco. Miss Y ordered the Amalfi Punch($ 15.50) after requesting a sweeter cocktail. The Amalfi Punch contains vodka, limoncello and strawberry purée with a squeeze of lemon, finished with pink peppercorns. The other two, Miss N and Miss K ordered the homemade lemonade and lime bitters($ 5.00). Once the drinks were sorted we decided to order some entrees to share. I quickly spotted the Fried Three-Cheese Gnocchi($ 9.50) and one of the other girls had tried it before and loved it so we decided to order a serve of that to share as well as the Crispy Squid($ 12.50). The Crispy Squid dish was quickly devoured by those who ate calamari and all I heard was positive comments about the dish. The only complaint we had with the entrees is that the gnocchi was delicious and there was not enough of it! After our entrees we then received our main meals. I ordered what I believe has become my favourite pasta dish at Jamie’s — Jool’s Favourite Sicilian Tuna Fusilli($ 13.00 entrée). Miss K ordered the Spring Pea and Mint Ravioli($ 14.00 entrée) that I had tried on my previous visit to Jamie’s. Miss N ordered the Honeycomb Cannelloni Three-Ways($ 22.50) and Miss Y ordered the Prawn Linguini($ 16.00 entrée). All the main dishes were enjoyed and we were barely able to part with our dishes even to share a mouthful but the temptation to try them all won out. Jamie’s again did not disappoint with their pasta! To end our meal we found room in our already quite full bellies to look over the desert menu. I ummed and aaahhed as to whether I should get the brownie again or try another of the deserts, Miss K helped me out in this regard by ordering Jamie’s Epic Brownie($ 10.00) and promising she would share some of it with me. Miss Y ordered the Creamy Pana Cotta($ 8.50). Lastly Miss N and myself ordered the Special Tiramisu($ 11.00) and Raspberry Frangipane($ 8.50) to share between us. I really enjoyed the brownie, pana cotta and raspberry frangipane, however personally I found the tiramisu to be too overwhelming with an alcoholic taste. Once again it was another fantastic dining experience at Jamie’s and one, which we timed perfectly — finishing our meal just as the dinner rush was arriving. The whole group enjoyed the meal from start to finish and the service was professional, prompt and friendly like always. I look forward to seeing how Jamie’s has grown and developed when I return to Perth.

I had very high expectations for Jamie’s Italian as I’ve dined in his Barbecoa restaurant in London which is a whole next level dining experience in itself! The venue is simply gorgeous with an Italian rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere. This place is extremely busy ALLTHETIME !!! We had an hour wait for our table but managed to score some bar seats where we had a glass of vino and shared some porcini arancini balls. amazing!!! The staff were super friendly despite being run off their feet. I would highly recommend that everyone get a serving of Jamie’s bread to start off with. for $ 2.25 you won’t be disappointed — so fresh, crunchy & tasty. I could go on & on! For mains I had mushroom and smoky mozzarella risotto which was amazing. My partner had the parpadelle carbonara which was slightly disappointing — pasta was undercooked and the sauce was pretty bland. All in all; a lovely dining experience with good food but a venue to keep you entertained for hours!

It was our third time to Jamie’s… Today was another decent meal, but today our pasta was a little undercooked, more so than al dente which was disappointing. We started with the porcini arancini balls and mushroom and ricotta bruschetta. 4⁄5 We both ordered tagliatelle Bolognese, the Main portion wasn’t much larger than the entrée(we ordered one of each). Additional Parmesan cheese made the dish! Skipped the sweets on this occasion but they looked pretty nice from what I could see.

I went to Jamie’s Italian with some work colleagues as it was the only thing open on a Sunday night in Perth and I have to say I was expecting it to be great. Unfortunately it was very underwhelming. As it was probably the only restaurant open in the CBD that night it was packed and we waited 40 minutes to get a table which wasn’t a problem as we went to a nearby bar. When we finally got into the restaurant and sat down it was very noisy and our waiter seemed to not want to be there. The food was just okay, nothing to write home about. I only ordered the entrée ravioli as I can never usually finish a whole plate of pasta and it came with a dollop of sauce and about 5 pieces of ravioli which was definitely not enough food. I felt a bit indignant at paying $ 16 for 5 pieces of pasta but I guess you’re paying for the brand here and not the food. I had the sour cherry almond tart for dessert but it was bland and not sour at all. It was also disappointing that they don’t really cater for food allergies, no gluten free pasta or pizza which made it hard for one of my party to find something to eat. I think she just had a salad which was not enough food for dinner. I don’t think I’ll be hurrying back to any of their other restaurants.

I went to jamies Italian last night with some work colleagues. We got there 15 min early for our 8th booking and were on a table a few minutes after 8. The menu looked like a café menu with average priced options. The dessert list had no tiramisu. We started off with some Italian wine and bread with olive oil(not complimentary). I ordered the prawn linguine and my colleague sitting across from me ordered black squid fish spaghetti. For dessert I had an almond sour cherry tart and my colleague had their cheesecake. My colleagues food was much nicer than mine. My food tasted average. The tart was dry tasteless and disappointing. Portion sizes are good.

More gastropub(without the beer) than Italian restaurant. Loud, bustling, entertaining; pretty fun place to eat! We had a booking for a late lunch(15:00), but could have gone without as several tables were empty. We were seated promptly and attended to quickly by happy, friendly waiters. The food was quite good and creative. We liked the fried gnocchi a lot. The burger was very good quality with good meat and bun and excellent flavor(and not just from the proprietor’s ‘magic sauce’, as so often), and the pork chop was great, with a lovely but simple parsley-milk-bread(bagna cauda?) sauce. The price for the burger and chips(close to $ 30!) was a bit on the high side and we weren’t smitten with the brownie. Overall a very nice place though. The servers were good, and most importantly, knew the menu, and the ingredients!

Went here for work lunch. Food was good but didn’t blow me away. Quite noisy too. I would go back but wouldn’t be on my list of priorities to go back. We’d a mix of starters including the stuffed peppers, mushroom pie, bread basket. All nice enough. I’d the veggie cannelloni for main. I was nice with a nice little kick of spice but not in every bite.
