My boyfriend is a steak snob so I don’t get to come here too often, but when my sister is in town we always go here! Honestly the steak here isn’t too bad. It’s not the best steak I’ve eaten but for the price it goes alright! I always get the same thing — Avocado Prime Rib with the salad and curly fries(what is going to Hogsbreath without getting curly fries?!) and an extra side of bernaise sauce. This is perfection to me! Each time I’ve visited the Penrith Hogsbreath it’s been great! Service is always relatively quick and friendly, lots of tables and space to sit — would recommend it to everyone.

After disappointing my wife and two teenager daughters by getting the time of the dance production at Parramatta confused which caused us to miss the show, we headed into Penrith along with the our youngest two and ate dinner out at Hog’s Breath Café. This was personally my second time eat at Hog’s Breath. My wife has eaten here more often but none of us has eaten at Hog’s Breath more than our eldest who first started dining here when we lived at Rockhampton. And of course, it was an excellent idea to eat dinner there. My only disappointment was that to eat inside, you have to sit at a booth as the standard table and chairs inside are only for bookings. Booths are a tight fit for me as my stomach has expanding hernias making it too tight and uncomfortable to sit there, so we ate outside. Eating outside turned out to work as the initial constant noise went and the sun’s glare didn’t take long to go and we could sit comfortably. Our orders were taken by a friendly young man who clearly enjoys his job. He was patient as he waited for us to get the final food details from our younger two children. Four mocktails, two cocktails and mains ordered and it was time to wait for our food which came to us all in good timing; * Salt and pepper calamari, Chunky Beef & Vegetable Soup. * Byron Bay Chilli Prime Rib — Medium rare. * Garlic Prawn Prime Rib — Well done. {Mine} * Aussie Backyard Salad with a side ration of bacon sprinkled over it. * Hoggies Fish & Chips — ordered for our youngest two to share. * Fresh Strawberry & Chocolate Fondue for the kids.(Shared) * Grandma’s Trifle Sundae for the Missus and I.(Shared) We had a taste of each others meals which all very yummy but oh mother of all taste buds, I loved my steak. My juicy prime rib, cooked well done, served with three prawns on top was sooo purrfect. I normally order my steak medium rare as far too many places think that well done means the texture of a leather belt but not at Hog’s Breath Café. My steak was well done and on putting it in my mouth, flesh of cow and I became one. Cooked to perfection. And the price? $ 208. And no after hunger. Go there. Eat there. May flesh of cow and yourself become one like yin/yang.

Great for Sunday morning Breakfast! Not too dear and they put plenty on your plate For dinner I recommend the Sampler. The Potato Skins are better than their counterparts at HRC in Sydney! Menu not too pricey, and their outdoor area is great in the warmer months. Not the best view(side of the Westfield and the traffic out front of the train station, best if the company your with provides the distraction! Plenty of menu items to choose from as well as «Blackboard Specials» The staff can be a bit hit and miss. The girl that served us on the friday night was definitely a lot more attentive than the guy on Sunday morning… but then again do you want someone hovering in a near empty restaurant at 8:30am on a Sunday?
