I enjoyed lunch in the company of friends at Jamie’s one Sunday afternoon. Most of us ordered the lunch special: linguini with pumpkin and chilli sauce. The pasta was fresh, the meal well spiced and seasoned, and thoroughly enjoyable. I enjoyed a glass of Pino Grigio which although priced at $ 15/glass was a quality drop. Bottled tap water was on the table. My friends ordered pre meal breads, and later, dessert, which they enjoyed. I’m a small eater, so only managed main meal. Menu prices mid range, drink prices high range. After our meal, I ended up ordering coffee as the only ‘black’ tea available was Earl Grey, which I don’t enjoy. Green tea on menu. Our waitress, although helpful, offered average service. We dined upstairs… not for anyone with mobility issues as timber with no anti slip surface. I consider Jamie’s Trattoria to be an average restaurant. Nothing flash. I would go again for a casual meal, but there are many other places in Parramatta to try first.

Went there for first time. I was disappointed that the menu was different to what was on the website. The service and atmosphere was great but the food was average for the price. I wouldn’t be going back there in a hurry but I would still eat.

I took my friend from the Gold Coast and had another good experience. The food was tasty(pippi’s pasta) and service was decent though we had to wave the waitress down after saying we needed a couple of minutes. We were able to split the bill which I was pleasantly surprised about. A nice dining experience.

Despite having an unpleasant dining experience(due to awful and rude staff) I decided to give Jamie’s another chance and treat my parents and sister to dinner. Staff were friendly but the meals were inedible. The bolognese and fries were too salty to eat, the veal was the worst cut of meat I have ever had. Tough and flavourless. The fresh Seasonal vegetables I was so looking forward to were swimming in some sort of slimey garlic soup. And the icing on the cake was my sister being violently ill from the lamb rigatoni. Never again.

Pretty disappointed with the entire ‘experience’ really. These days dining at places like this is much more than just the food. The restaurant is tied to a celebrity chef, so one would expect the food to be great, and in our case it was ‘quite good’ but not great. The décor is nice, the location is good. It’s on the noisy side, but that’s expected. The worst part however was the service — which has a way to really leave a bad taste in your mouth. We made a reservation for 14 people and could only get a table at 8:30pm, and we could only order from a set menu. All understandable, and we were fine with that. The set menu was $ 48. We chose our 3 courses however the waitress seriously struggled — she went around 3 times trying to get the order right, and eventually had to call in the reinforcement of a second waitress to help her take the order. Despite all that they still made mistakes. When we mentioned one of the desserts was wrong, and they took the same order 3 times, they basically said ‘tough’ and to just deal with it! At the end of the meal we get slapped with an additional $ 5 for the steaks we ordered(why have a set menu of $ 48 and have an extra charge of $ 5 for the steak? It doesn’t make sense, just have a cheaper cut that matches the other meals?). And we also got slapped with an 8% service charge of $ 70 in total. This really disappointed us as we are aware that restaurants in NSW are not allowed to have hidden charges. The management claimed that when the booking was taken we were told about the surcharge. The booking was taken at the ‘head office’ and they had apparently taken a ‘note’ on the booking that they’d told us about it. Honestly, just a farce. Left a really bad taste in our mouths. Nothing professional here, we were just herded through like cattle in a chain environment in one of Jamie’s numerous establishments. Not interested in returning.

Yay! Finally hit up Jamie’s ya’ll! The original plan of this meal trip was breakfast on Saturday and unfortunately/fortunately they finished breakkie at 11. no wozzas lunch it was. The menu consisted of pastas, pizza, and signature dishes and though I knew the size of the meal might be a little much for my tummy I thought I could bring it home to eat later. Mushroom pasta and a side of the greens(Broccolini and Kale $ 6) We lost our waitress who seemed to be training someone else for a little while but she was ultimately very friendly and helpful. Food was really yummy except for the polenta chips which lacked flavour. I was very disappointed when I asked for a take-away container and they said that they don’t allow people to take food home. I understand the reasoning for this but wished I had seen it on the menu. I left half a very expensive pasta dish on that table. Glad I got to a Jamie’s but like most celebrity restaurants they feel rather commercialised.

Tried their«famous prawn linguine» and for $ 26.50 I was expecting large prawns but got a few baby prawns tossed in my bland pasta. The squid antipasti and arancini balls were yummy but both portions were tiny. Kale slaw was meh… healthy? Bland. Does not compare to city restaurant and quite disappointed since I’m such an avid Jamie Oliver fan

The food was a bit bland honestly, though it wasn’t horrible. It was pretty decent and our waiters were really really friendly. They did well with the kids and gave them plenty of things to read and draw with. We were seated next to the kitchen, and even though I was already expecting it to be a bit loud due to the fact the place was packed, everyone in the kitchen was literally yelling and it was a bit of a dissapointment since the atmosphere would have been pretty chill without all the loud yelling and constant dinging of the bell. The restaurant wasn’t a stereotypical Italian restaurant at all and I liked that a lot. I think the standards were set a bit too high in my case because it’s Jamie’s restaurant, which is why I was a little dissapointment, however I’d defiantly recommend this place and come back next time I’m in Sydney! ^^

This was an overall decent restaurant with reasonable pricing. I probably wouldn’t have noticed this place if it weren’t for the Jamie tag but it kinda snuck into Parramatta anyway it took me this long to go try it. We turned up on a busy packed out Thursday night with no reservation and waited a mere 3 seconds before being seated. Probably a record. The interior is airy, high and not too stereotypical Italian. Albeit there were random dry pasta sacks up against the windowed wall for décor purposes or backup, who knows. I believe there’s an upstairs section although we did not venture there. You can see the kitchen clearly and the chefs, which is always nice to be affirmed that your food is not being prepared by Italian robots. The menu was light, well balanced and easy to navigate, I found options immediately, which doesn’t always happen with Italian restaurants in Sydney. I find most Italian restaurants want to bombard you with too much choice and eager to prove they can serve every dish in Italy. For a change, this joint was pleasantly different. We had a very amicable experience and the food was quality and delicious. I really did enjoy that spaghetti bolognese, traditional but not always done right. Here it was, bravo. I know this place gets hell busy but the service was inattentive and especially when we wanted to pay. I guess eat and run then?

Walked in Great service from Adnan who was very attentive. Atmosphere was electric but relaxed at the same time. One of us ordered a Gluten Free meal and we were notified that the Fries were potentially cross contaminated in the Fryer which shows a great understanding of the requirements of GF. Overall, fantastic service, food was amazing, and great atmosphere.

Yes. Finally tried Jamie’s in Australia. The first time I had it was in Singapore but it was disappointing so when my colleagues decided to try this place out, I agreed without much hesitant. Located near to the Parramatta station, this place was extremely accessible(walkable distance). It would be easier if you have make reservations to dine in as there are people who have to wait for awhile before they arrange the seats. Came in at 5.15pm and my reservation was at 5.30pm. Since I was the first out of the eight people in the group, they sat me down at the high table next to the reservation counter till my colleagues arrive. Prior to coming here, I had a list of menu to try out but unfortunately did not have a chance to try out the dessert(as I was running out of time — to be at another place). Interior design — modern and classic combined. Pretty well done in matching the different furnitures to increase the vibrant look of the 2 stories restaurant. The assigned waiter came with an electronic pad to punch in our beverage orders and he did that in a circle. Then he came back to include our«mains». We had the Funghi Misti(Pizza) and I had the Porcini Fettuccine. The pizza was crispy and it was a light pizza. There were 6 slices per pizza so we ordered 2 for the party of 8. Between the pizza and the pastas, it took quite a big gap for the dishes to arrive. The Porcini fettuccine was rich in flavors and the grated cheese on the side made the dish more tasty. The portion was pretty good for this dish. Some of the other colleagues ordered Bolognese and Lamb Raviolis. Portion wasn’t that great on those two dishes and they had to order a side of dessert after that meal. Opposite of what I had though. Oh yes, and the Strawberry and Elderflower soda tasted more like Ribena. I did not really taste the soda. One of my friends ordered Peach Tea and it came milkier instead of refreshing drink. Wasn’t too keen on the beverage. Since I was sitting next to where the food is being prepared, it was like watching Chefs shows on tv where one waiter tried to speed up the processing time of the food and maintaining the food presentation(cleaning the little mess on the plates). Was pretty privileged to see that part of the food industry. Overall, I have yet to try the famous brownie and Polenta Chips but so far the food was pretty good despite of the pricing(moderately high priced and not too big of a portion — minus a big star). Tried the pavlova on another occasion. Had great expectation but it didn’t meet the cravings I have for it. The top is crunchy but the bottom part of the meringue wasn’t puffy. Like the honeycomb and sliced pear with chocolate drizzle otherwise.

Went there on Friday night in a group of two adults and one baby. The restaurant is very baby friendly with a side entrance for prams, colouring activities with crayons, baby seats(though a bit of a tight fit) and a kids menu. The meals on the kids menu costs $ 9.50 and comes with a generous main, soft salad and a choice of apple or orange juice. Kids dessert costs around $ 3. The waiters were friendly and attentive despite the busyness of the dinner rush. The restaurant comprises of two levels and the fit out is fantasitc, with high ceilings and different sets of lights located throughout the restaurant. There is a bar area with seating available and a kitchen with a beautiful wood fire stove. The atmosphere was buzzing, with a loud, vibrant feeling that blends with the non-stop action of the kitchen. The crowd is a broad mixture comprising of young couples, families and groups. The menu is broad and encompasses a range of antipasti, pizza, pasta, Al matrons, bread and olives. There is also a specials board. Beverage wise, there is a moderate selection of wines, beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. For entrees we ordered the meatballs($ 12.50) and chicken liver pâté on bruschetta($ 12.50). The entrees arrived after approximately 15 minutes after being ordered. With reference to the meatballs, they tasted fantastic and the sauce was amazing although the serving could have been a lot more generous as there were only 5 meatballs. The chicken liver was delicious and contrary to the meatballs, generously spread across two pieces of bruschetta. For the mains we ordered the Porcini fettuccine($ 22) and the Fiorentina pizza($ 21.90). It took approximately 25 minutes to arrive, which had my stomach grumbling a little after the entrees. The fettuccine tasted very nice, with the mushrooms complimenting the fettuccine beautifully. Likewise, the Fiorentina had a great tasting base that worked well with the various ingredients. Portions for the mains were adequate but not necessarily filling if you’re a big eater. For a drink I had a glass of Angela Fossil($ 10.50). Overall I would say that the dining experience was a pretty good one. The food is delicious and the atmosphere lively. Table spacing is well planned so that there is some sense of privacy despite the vibrancy. The only criticism I would have is in regards to the cost to portion ratio for the meals but I guess that is to be expected given the name of the restaurant. Transport wise, Parramatta train station(which also has numerous busses operating outside the station) is situated approximately 500 metres away. There is paid street parking in close proximity and a multi storey parking station approximately 400 metres away.

Great relaxed long lunch with the boys. Fantastic antipasti share followed by some hearty Italian. A Sunday adventure worth doing with friends to escape the city for something different
