Yay! Love this place. Its always busy and I love the special flavours they have. The location is fantastic. Once you have dinner then go grab an ice cream and people watch everyone crossing the intersection lol.

This is by far my gelato place I’ve ever been to. Whenever I’m in Parramatta friends and I always end up here. The specials are always changing as well which keeps trying new flavours interesting.

Really doesn’t take much convincing when you hear ‘Messina’, the name says it all, it’s almost as household as Coca Cola these days with their every expanding empire. It’s the Crème de la Crème of gelato with its crazy, inventive, imaginative & risqué flavour concoctions! Sometimes I think the masterminds must’ve been high on all the sugar in the gelato to come up with some of these crazy but oh-so-delicious-and-lickable flavours! At some pretty decent prices no wonder there’s a queue every day! Always always always try at least one flavour on the specials menu but if none takes your fancy my staples are Salted Caramel w White Chocolate Shards, Banana Split & the refreshing flavours of Pandan & Coconut. Ps. If there’s peanut butter involved in any of the specials in sold at «pea»

When you see a place with the queue barriers snaking out on the footpath, the anticipation increases. Once inside the collection of flavors gets the mouth watering and then the only problem becomes choosing. Luckily the 3 kids chose a different one each so I could try all of theirs, then get another 3 flavours in the $ 10.50 take away box(which is a really nifty idea). The guy behind the counter was concerned it wouldn’t be big enough as he could«polish one of those off himself» and I don’t disagree, the 3 flavours we chose could have easily been devoured by me alone, but then I could probably finish off a 1.5L box without too much trouble(until half an hour later). Yuuum. The only complaint would be that we were usherd to one side of the counter and didn’t realise that there were another 10 flavours on the other side, oh well. Next time. Notes — please don’t abuse the taste test, it is cash only and don’t forget to ask for a spoon with the box — otherwise it gets messy.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the flavours but first have a look at the prices and do the math. Its much better value to grab 3 scoops for $ 7 or one of the $ 10500ml tubs. The only problem I’ve ever had here is being stuck behind a «taste tester» in the queue. You know, those people that abuse the free taste test by wanting a taste of just about every flavour in the store! One or two is fine but some people just take the piss… Other than that its pure awesome. Just be careful with some of the flavours as they can be quite strong. If it has something like lemon or ginger in it I’d test it as they’re usually really really strong flavours.

So glad this opened up locally! I was missing my messinas hit! I think everyone knows about this place, the flavours are always changing and the more radical they sound the tastier they are! Got to try every flavour before I die! Lol Try the tasting plate, you can pick five flavours between you and a friend and finish it even after a hearty dinner!

Gelato! Gelato! Gelato! Messina! Finally they have a store out west! This store is more spacious compared to their Darlinghurst and Surry Hills ones. Located at 283 Church St, Parramatta. Favourite flavours include salted coconut and mango salsa and banana split! Grab a 500ml tub for $ 10 and you can choose 3 flavours. Yummy!
