Went to pie in the sky. Ordered two pies, mushroom and feta & spinach. The mushroom was your average classic pie with nice flavour of the meat but just plain, nothing special. The feta and spinach was average too. We also ordered some chips as well but it was dry and definitely don’t order. This is a nice café with average food but it was the best café around in this area but if you’re not staying in Olinda and just passing by, definitely suggest going elsewhere

I’d give this place an A-OK. It’s in the quaint little town of Olinda, and the shop is authentic and dated, but in a charming way. It draws massive crowds of tourists(mean by the bus load!) I wouldn’t wait in the line I had to again for a free pie. It was meaty and hearty, but not really worth the effort. The passion fruit vanilla slice however… that gets 5⁄5!

Good food and absolutely good prices, just don’t go there before they’re closing because probably a waiter could kick out of the place, just it !!! The God things is at that time you can find pie’s sales

We called in late in the day. Which ended up a bit of a disappointment as there was considerable confusion with the staff of what we could order and if they could supply the pies hot to eat and that we wanted to eat in. Eventually the pies arrived at our table in dribs and drabs. The coffee arrived even later with the coffee being not great. The apple pies we ordered didn’t even arrive because at one stage they didn’t know we had paid for them. In the end they put the apple pies in a bag to take home. The apple pies when we did eat them were not terriable luckily the meat pies were good.

This place used to be great. Then they became famous and far more concerned about having novel pies than good pies(although they were still decent). Then they became a tourist trap. Now the food is ok, the coffee is poor and it feels like it should be in a food court. Don’t go.

I am a man who likes my pie’s. and this place does amazing pies. I like the curry or the sausage rolls. You can get take away or eat in and get chips, salad, mash, peas, gravy and more sides to match. They also do great desserts. It is in a great little town. Well worth a visit!

Rude and arrogant staff. Make sure not to arrive just before they are closing. You can’t even use the tables outside to eat.

Stop by Pie in the Sky on your next Sunday drive in the hills and taste why the pies here are picking up gold medals left, right and centre. You can choose to eat in and enjoy the table service, or opt for a take away lunch, which is what we did as the inside is often quite busy on a Sunday arvo. As a vegetarian, we had the choice of the vegie pastie or the spinach and ricotta pie. We chose the pie, and it was fantastic. Spinach, lumps of ricotta and rice all mixed together and wrapped in pastry. Gold! Meat eaters have a larger choice, with a rotation of special pies on offer and some great sounding gourmet varieties. With pies at about $ 5 each, its definitely catering to the tourists stopping by, however the taste is worth the extra few bucks.
