Pulled pork burger was awesome and the fries were incredible! Had to wait a while to be seated and to order but when the meal came out the wait was worth it.

My review of porkys is mostly indifference. Food and service were okay but nothing special. Not bad not good just okay. I had the ribs and my boyfriend had the burger. I doubt I’ll go back but wouldn’t be against it either.

My first time to porky BBQ and I really enjoyed it. Staff where a bit confused on seating at first but found us a perfect spot. Waitress very informative about the food and drinks which was a great start. The food was spot on American BBQ, great smokey flavors, juicy and delicious. The only negative was the ribs weren’t very meaty but the were cooked to perfection. Service was pretty bad after the initial seating, never got asked or couldn’t get anyone’s attention for more drinks. Took 10 mins just to get someone’s attention for the bill. Anyway I loved it and I will be back

Great place for a Sunday afternoon recovery. My friend and I found ourselves here after a big weekend. It was fairly quiet with a good vibe and we were impressed with the friendly staff and cheerful service. The dirty fries with a tap beer was the winner — delicious! The smokey ribs were pretty good and I think even better later on after we took a doggy bag home. I’ll be back for those dirty fries and perhaps a cocktail next time for sure!

I voted 3 but it’s probably somewhere been a 3 and a 4. 6 of us went on a Friday for lunch. I had a half rack of ribs, hush puppies and deep fried chillies. Ribs — the ribs were nice, tasty. Not a super saucer marinade more or a dry marinade. A solid offering without blowing your socks off. Nice smokey flavour, not overpowering Deep fried chilli — really enjoyed them. Just the right amount of bite. These are not poppers so no cheese, but they had a dipping sauce(might have been blue cheese or ranch). Hush puppies — pretty standard hush puppies if you’ve been to any of the other southern America restaurants in Perth. Staff were attentive. Gave us 10 minutes to look at the menu and then took food and drinks orders. Drinks were out in 5minutes. Food maybe 10−15mins later. Well paced service. The others had the Po boys sandwich which they raved about the walk back and for only $ 10. I’ll be keen to give that a go Overall very enjoyable, I like my ribs a bit saucier but there was nothing wrong with any of the food. I’ll be heading back at some point for round 2!

Sadly, not sold on Porky’s just yet I’d spotted this place a few weeks ago when driving through Northbridge, and decided to give it a go one Friday night with a friend of mine who enjoys American BBQ cuisine like you wouldn’t believe. I’ve also tried my fair share of BBQ joints on the odd US trip, so I couldn’t say no either. Their website claims that«all [their meat is] cooked with real wood burning BBQ smokers for up to 12 hours.» Sadly, my dining companion that evening knows how to tell the difference between meat cooked in a real wood burning bbq smoker, and meat that has been flavoured with artificial BBQ smoke or essence. Sadly, Porky’s to him tasted like the latter — artificial. Ignoring that they seem to have cheated on the cooking despite the promises of their website, the quality of most of the meat was great(Angus beef brisket, chopped pork and chicken quarter). The only exceptions to this were their Kansas Style Pork Ribs, which is a dry rub. Sadly, their choice to use a dry rub makes the meat chewy, and difficult to come away from the bone — a lot more effort, and a lot less flavourful than a wet rub, which delivers a succulent meat that is easy to eat. Switch to a wet rub, and these would have been far better. The chilli beef & pork fennel sausage was lacking some important fat content, which made it taste quite dry. The other let down were the sides. and specifically the mac and cheese. The cheeses picked for this dish, and I couldn’t work out what they were, are just too runny and lacked any punch or nutty notes. It would have been far better with some extra texture, such as a crunchy/crispy top. Ambience is more than fine, and the size of the venue is a massive advantage — where you’re not tripping over other diners just to move around and get in/out of your table. It also means that dining here with very large groups is an absolute breeze. So would I visit again? Maybe. I’d avoid the ribs, and the mac and cheese unless they made some marked improvements — but i’d absolutely be happy to try everything else on their menu.

Two hungry girls were roaming the Barrack St area trying to find a spot to eat at Edosei, unfortunately they didn’t book for the restaurant prior. The kind manager told them that they could wait for 20 minutes but they decided to try their luck in Northbridge. They went to the Porky’s BBQ& Bar at Northbridge and were surprised that the premise looked quite empty at 8PM on a Saturday night. It turned out that their eyes were deceived when they found a lot of seated customers inside the restaurant area. A spot for two were easily obtained without any problem at all. After a small chat with the helpful staff Loiene, they agreed on the $ 47 meat tray and a bottle of cider for each person to quench their thirst. The meat tray was delivered really quickly to their table, the chef must have felt concerned about their wellbeing. The spicy beef sausage delivered quite a good kick while the pork sausage was quickly demolished. The shredded Angus beef was so tender and juicy, they were dreaming of it to be served together with rice. The tasty ribs were quite chewy despite the beautiful sticky smoky sauce. Halfway through eating their meals, they craved a bowl of good carbs and put in an order for tasty Mac n’ Cheese. One of them insisted that the meal should be shared between the two of them so that it could lessen the guilt that might creep in later. The Mac n’ Cheese was cheesy and buttery as what it should be! There was something heartwarming about eating comfort food such as Mac n’ Cheese late at night… As they finished the last sip of their cider, the Bestfriend went to the counter to pay for everything. It was about a good time for them to travel back home for a good sleep especially since the bar area started to fill up with the younger crowd. Grateful and full, they walked away happily from the Porky’s Northbridge and determined to go back to try the meat tray pizza in the near future.
