This place is crazy and colourful — and the place to come for sheets, quilt covers, throws, pillows, cushions, blankets and towels. There are a few outlets around Sydney (Rhodes, Campbelltown, Balmain and Leichhardt), but this one’s excellent for the convenience factor of King Street.
There are quite a few fun gift ideas, like glitter shower caps, and a whole bunch of bathroom accessories for housewarming pressies. The staff are super helpful and there’s a customer reward program too. So far, so good with the quality factor — my towels are still looking like new and I bought them many, many uses ago… If you’re the kind of person who gets a little overexcited by homewares and manchester, go have a browse.

As a newcomer to the delights of Sydney, one of my first problems was where to buy bed linen. Of course, Target was an obvious first choice, but I despaired of their low thread count and obviously scratchy polyester offerings. It’s lucky I found Holy Sheet then — a treasure trove for top quality and often quirky sheets, quilts, pillow cases and towels. Linen is crammed into shelves, strung up from the ceiling and stacked on the floor — ironically creating the impression of a Chinese laundry. I was spoilt for choice and walked out happily clutching a new bedset in a fabulous blue. Perfect!

I now own a cushion with a vintage telephone print and a flying granny. No I did not throw my granny out the window (although that would be a falling granny wouldn’t it), rather I went to Holy Sheet.
Holy Sheet is a Manchester shop on King Street in Newtown, and they certainly have a large assortment of sheets, quilts, cushions, bathrobes and other Manchester, but they also have some other really cool stuff including high quality plastic shower curtains, one I particularly liked was printed with venetian blinds being climbed by a frog; of course the flying granny and a pig popper which is a cute piggy who shoots foam balls out his mouth.
If you have granny issues, Holy Sheet is your shop.
