Muzz Buzz is the only dedicated drive thru coffee bar I know of in Adelaide. They used to have two locations, but the one on Main North Road in Nailsworth is the only one open now. We have been customers since they opened. As Yanks, we’re fans of good drive thru coffee bars and made ample use of the drive thru Starbucks on our recent vacation back to the USA. Muzz Buzz is big in Perth/WA where they first started, but they didn’t seem to get traction here in SA. It’s a pity, as they make a great coffee. It comes to you with a small cookie on the lid and a straw. I once asked for a coffee with no lid or straw, but they explained that they were required to serve them with straws and lids as a safety precaution since they were a drive thru. Seems reasonable to me. Anyway, if you’re not on a diet(I am), my recommendation is a four shot grande latte with the grande Muzz Balls special. Along with your coffee, you get a second grande cup filled with donut holes. They heat them and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar over them. YUM, and they often have an add-on to that special and throw in a free bottle of water too. You don’t even need to ask for it-they’ll offer the water if the special is on. How cool is that? As far as political correctness goes, they have just hired their first male barista. So who knows, maybe they read their Unilocal reviews. They get my reccomendation. Eat drink and be merry, but not too much. JD

The coffee is okay for a drive-thru place and the food is what could be expected from a drive-thru place. I understand they’re trying to be different by putting straws in the coffee cup lids, but straws in hot beverages might not be the best idea considering plastic in hot liquid has a tendency to leach nasty chemicals in the liquid. The biggest reason I won’t go there again is because of what I saw while driving past the other day… They had girls dressed provocatively on the side-walk with balloons and signs to bring in customers. This is not cool. This behaviour only reinforces the negative stigmas that women face in Australian society. I will never buy coffee from them again, knowing that they use the objectification of women to bring in customers. What kind of customers does Muzz Buzz want, anyway?
