Since the major AMP renovation, Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre’s almost non-existent Coles has flourished and is the newest, brightest, competitively priced supermarket in this shopping centre. My 10 year long loyalty to Woolworths was no competition to this new store. Following the new layout, open entries, open planning, self-checkouts, I have been converted. The shop looks brighter, more organised and fresher somehow… if supermarkets can look fresher(besides the woolworths fresh food people logo)… and I think being the sponsor to channel 10’s Masterchef over the last few years was a very smart alliance. They have fresh fish, they will carve your hams for you, slice them thin or thick… they will let you sample some and they have a fruit and separate salad bar. Pretty nice. On top of this, they must be pretty aware of the competition literally right in front of their store with regards to fruit and vegies, because they price their fruit and vegies pretty much on par with the smaller folk… maybe ensuring you don’t stray from their attractive new store front. Makes you want to shop there more. In fact, I have shopped there more. So if you need a new supermarket to get your bargains… definetely go here.
