Great food, great coffee, great service, and a retro layout… not pretentious… A winner here.

Food was above average. Service was quite slow, although cool area to people watch so not so much of a problem. Wouldn’t hurry back.

We visited Counting Sheep Corner several times during our last trip to Australia in March 2013. We’re leaving for Australia again February 12th2014 and we’ll be hanging out every day during our trip. Counting Sheep Corner has some of the best Chai Tea, Coffee and Muffins in town/country/world. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Joe is the best!

Our favourite little café! Maybe it’s because it’s one of the closest to our house but proximity doesn’t always make something the best. These guys put up good coffee and great food. The morning breakfast wrap with eggs, avocado, cheese, tomato and bacon are fantastic(hold the bacon for me though). Did I mention they are huge by australian standards? I recently had the avocado bruschetta and it was great. Bruschetta can be hit or miss but this one was really good and again, quite big. My husband is there at least a few times a week and the friendly staff all know him well. Right before Christmas they walked out and gave him a bag full of cakes and muffins with a sweet note saying thanks and happy holidays to their loyal customers. The décor is quirky, I like the eclectic mix of funky furniture and art– but it is a bit of a mishmash and I’d like to give it a bit of a re-vamp. I need to get back there more often and try more of the food but with this 9 to 5 job of mine it’s not always easy to find the time. My only complaint? The chai lattes aren’t the best and those are usually what I love to drink when I go to a café. Be

There seems to be everything go on in this little café. Teatowels, dried flowers, baskets, baby gifts, chandliers, lots of different pictures, any chair they could grab. As much as its busy on the inside so is its patronage I have yet to pass this café without seeing the inside full to the brim as well as the few tables outside. I like the bircher muesli here but its not what it should be — super crunchy. I love the almonds, berries and apple within the cereal. the coffee is very good too. The signage always makes me giggle like they put one of their children and let them run riot with markers. Although its central view is the busiest roundabout in Sydney its a perfect place to stop for a breather or start your day.

For some reason I have trouble remembering the name of this café; when I talk about it with friends I come up with all sorts of mix ups of farm animals and sleep references — Sleeping Giants, Cat and Dog, Sleeping Sheep. The fact that I have referred to it so often correctly indicates that I like it. It’s a quirky place, right on a corner with two street frontages, and looking somewhat ramshackle. Inside, none of the chairs or tables match, and there is a bizarre collection of knick-knacks on display that makes you wonder if you’ve accidentally walked into someone’s living room instead of the café. The coffee once served — rarely in matching cups — is good, and comes with some friendly barrista banter. The menu seems to match the décor: green chicken curry or a muesli cookie with your cappuccino? Perhaps it’s this authenticity that makes the place appealing — the chef”s just whipped up whatever he or she was in the mood for. What’s funny is that somehow people seem to stay once they’ve arrived. It’s not a coffee-and-run place, and I don’t think you’d pick it for your takeaway brew. Perhaps there’s an innate somnolence to the place and that’s why they chose the name … just go with the flow and order a second cup.
