I sort of knew it was a bad idea when I bought it… small trailer office, using the lingo that car salesman use etc. but I hoped that people were good and no one would work for a company that sells lemons. Well lesson learned and I am here to use my lesson to prevent you from making the same mistake. I bought a used 2002 Honda Jazz from Australian Car Sales Group in Michinbury. It was listed for $ 4,900 with 188,000KM. I talked them down to $ 4,400 and thought I got a good deal although I am pretty sure I didn’t. I brought up service history and getting an inspection but he said the car included a one year warranty and made some sales comment about how a mechanic wouldn’t cover things under warranty so not to bother. REDFLAG I guess but I proceeded anyways cause I like to live in a world of good and often I am correct. I drove the car for a while and heard some rattle and noise. I had to get a part of the transmission repaired at one stage but it wasn’t a huge investment… until my rego came up after having the car for about 7 months and putting less than 10,000KM on it. I took it to the mechanic who informed me that the car was not road worthy or in saleable condition. In fact it seemed as though the shocks had never been replaced, something that should have been done 100,000 Km ago. The brakes and tires also need replacing for a total cost of $ 2,600 to be able to pass rego. Brakes need to be done every 40,000 — 50,000 km and were long over due(as in should have been done before I drove off the lot). I called to see if any of that was covered under waranty and of course it is not. I also tried to call the dealer to chat and they did not answer their phone.
