Red Hot Spatula

Fabulous format for cooking classes, lots to eat, and a relaxed atmosphere. I have been to two cooking classes now and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. My only grip is I was so full afterwards because I ate too much but I’m guessing I only have myself to blame for that one! The classes cover all sorts of cuisines from Spanish tapas to high tea to Singapore hawkers food.

This morning I went on an Asian Foodie Walkabout in Northbridge with Yvonne and Yolanda as our hosts. We started the tour on foot with a stop by an Asian baker. I ate a delicious Kaya bun and tried a Pandan cake thanks to our hosts.
After this we visited a busy fishmonger, Asian butcher, grocery market and herbal store. The shop fronts along William Street can be a little deceiving and look kind of ordinary but there is so much life in them. I was surprised to find that a tiny entrance often led to a decent sized interior, a labyrinth of aisles with shelves stocked to the brim.
The tour was relaxed and we had ample time to purchase items along the way. Yvonne and Yolanda are incredibly welcoming and it was great to be able to bounce off all sorts of questions along the way.
One of the highlights was tasting warm sweet tofu at a place I never knew existed.
The foodie tour is just fantastic, if you are new to Perth or like me wanting to find places to buy those ingredients you need to make a char kway teow or a curry laksa at home.

Um is there anything this dynamic mother daughter duo can’t do with a spatula?! I think not.
You can sample their finger licking food at markets and food & wine fairs across the metro area.
You can take their cooking classes which are relaxing, interesting and best of all delicious!
Then once you’ve done all that you can use them for a function — from large scale events to private dinner parties, from dude food to delicate Asian flavours.

Awesome cooking classes, really hands on! Nice kitchen in Swan View, very friendly and you get to cook straight away, then share everyones dishes later on. I’m a fan, and I will go again!
