I received a quote from Dennis before heading overseas in June. He was great to deal with, seemed to know his stuff and gave me a good quote and the assurance that installation would be quick and easy. My partner arranged a time for the insulation to be installed after I got home, and before starting back at work(Thursday, July 24). I arranged the deposit whilst travelling to ensure the installation was confirmed. When I arrived home on Wednesday, my partner had not heard anything back from EEC so I called to see what time the installer would be arriving. Russell answered and told me 8.30 but it depended on the weather, as the installer had cancelled that day’s job because of rain. So, I already had a bad feeling about things. Bang on 8.30am Thursday I received a call saying that the installer had a family emergency, and the installation was rescheduled for Friday. Then bang on 8.30 Friday, I received a call saying the installer was not coming because it was raining. He lives at Nairne, where my partner works, and yes it was raining there but Lobethal hadn’t had a drop all morning. I asked for another installer to come out because access was via the manhole and hence weather really shouldn’t be an issue. Ten mins later I received a call saying the installer was on his way. Two hours later, he showed up and as soon as I opened the door he said he had a «bad feeling» about this, god knows why. He walks in and looks at the manhole and says its too small(it’s not). Then he climbs up and says while the manhole is big enough, he hasn’t got room to get the bags in. And he can’t go in via the roof because it’s too wet — despite no sunstantial rain for the past day and concrete tiles with good grip. The installer left without trying to reschedule a time, and giving me the impression he didn’t care if he got the job or not. He actually said I could arrange someone else if I wanted and left it at that. I left a message with EEC on Saturday morning asking them to arrange for the job to be done within a week of the agreed date, or else I’d like my deposit back. On Monday I spoke with the owner(Paul) who wanted to reschedule for Friday, which was not suitable as I would be back at work, or Saturday, which also wasn’t suitable. Long story short a different installer was arranged for this morning(Tuesday). Shannon was good to deal with from the outset, calling to let me know he was running late. When he arrived, he looked at the manhole and inside the ceiling and said there was no reason the job couldn’t be done quickly and easily — as had Dennis when he came to quote on the job. Within two hours the job was complete. I would highly recommend Shannon Fleming Insulation to anyone looking to have insulation installed. The efficient, friendly service he provided was far from that of EEC’s local installer.
