Poni Tokyo Nails

I picked up a flyer for Poni Tokyo Nails at my Japanese language school, and intrigued by the advertised 20% discount, booked an appointment online for a gel manicure after work.
The shop is easy to find, just up from Giallo Shoes — look for the bright green sign. Poni Tokyo is a one-​woman shop, run by the lovely Nao, so I’d recommend making an appointment, otherwise you run the risk of having to wait.
Nao is a graphic designer by trade, and her nail art designs are incredibly cool. I’m a terrible nail biter, so opted for a plain purple with a checkerboard accent nail — once my nails have grown a bit, I’ll get something fancier.
The space is impeccably clean, well-​lit and comfortable. I’m not an expert on gel nails but the finished product looks great and is expected to last for two-​four weeks. Nao is currently offering a 20% discount to celebrate opening, but even at full price, I think Poni Tokyo is great value.
