Melbourne City Medical Centre

My employer recommended the location so we called to make an appointment for our infant daughter. It was time for her six months vaccinations and a general checkup.
We experienced a very hasty and rushed visit with the Doctor — just enough time to type in our names and addresses into his computer. This portion of our visit cost $ 100.
Then we were sent to a nurse for the actual exam and vaccinations.
We asked if we could change the baby’s nappy prior to weighing and measuring her (this needs to be done without clothes or diaper on the baby and is a courtesy to all involved) and were given an attitude from the nurse. In fact, we were told that we could not leave the nappy in the examining room rubbish bin and that we would have to take it with us.
The nurse had no equipment to properly weigh and measure the baby. She also didn’t know where to place her measuring tape in order to measure the circumference of the baby’s head.
When it came time for the vaccinations, she jabbed the needle in to our daughter’s legs so hard that she left a bruise. This was the third round of vaccinations for our infant and in both of our prior visits to a doctor we did not have such a negative experience. The vaccines cost $ 210. Our grand total for the visit was $ 310.
We will never return and do not recommend Melbourne City Medical Centre for those with children.
