Faultless, a 4 minute transit connection I order extra hot skim tall latte with honey and I get it made perfectly and in record time! This place has the best system going for quality coffee, service and churns through the morning peak! Some Cafes need to take note when at others you wait if they are making 3 coffees etc! This is truly as their name suggest coffee HQ

If you want great coffee with table service and that «café’» experience, head down to Chapel St. or one of the lanes nearby. If you want the best coffee in Melbourne, come here! Sweet crema/​aroma, medium body, rounded, syrupy with a great after-​taste.

If you’re not in a rush it could be the place to stop — I’m hoping I caught it on a bad day. Otherwise give it a WIDE berth. There is no organisation when it comes to collecting your coffee, it is disorganised and frustrating for some. I purchased a bite sized sundries apricot bar that was as like biting into blue steel it was that hard and tasteless and let’s not chat about the Chai that was ordered. Given you’re in the coffee capital — I suggest you keep walking and find somewhere else.

Bought coffee from here twice and both times have been horrendous. Wasn’t looking for anything fancy — just a quick coffee on the run. But both times coffee was too hot to even hold in the paper cup. Pretty flavourless, and there was no discernable difference between my cappucino and my mates long black. Avoid coffee hq at all costs, you’d be much better to get a coffee at maccas (or an actual coffee joint)

This place is quick, which is really all you née when you are rushing to get that connecting train in the early am’s. It is a tad over priced in my opinion but they can be given location and commuters needs for their caffeine hit. Always fairly friendly service, efficient is the key word for this place.
I would not rave about this place but it does the job, always clean and presentable. If you are in need of caffeine or a quick sandwich while waiting inside flinders street, this is the place to fill your needs.

The coffee here is quick, about the only good thing going for it. Priced higher than average and today I was given a latte that was so sickly sweet. Must’ve been mixed up with the previous order who order two sugars. Didn’t realise until I was on the train. If you have the time, don’t bother with this one.

Thinking this will be my new local coffee stop on my way to work! Really great staff — fast service and it makes 5 am wakes ups a lot easier. Not the greatest coffee I’ve had but pretty decent and convenient if your passing through flinders station

If you’re in Flinders Street Station, in a rush, or on your way to work and you must have a caffeine hit immediately, you can stop off at Coffee HQ.
Coffee HQ is conveniently located in the heart of the station. Asides from that that’s all it’s really got going for it. As the name suggests, coffee is what it does mainly and the coffee is horrible, bitter and not worth bothering about.
I have tried this place numerous times, always in the hope that this time it might have improved, but alas the coffee still tastes as if dishwater would be a finer beverage. Add to that corpse like uncaring service and rip off prices. They do offer some sandwiches and small cakes which I have tried and are also nothing to write home about.
My advice is unless you are desperate, keep on walking.

Oh god. Why can’t more decent coffee places open in the city over the weekend?
Rushing for a train, I didn’t have have time to go anywhere else. I knew it wasn’t going to be good, but I didn’t think it would be that bad.
It was.
I left it on the platform after 2 sips. (Bring back the bins Flinders St — where else can I leave my vile coffee, and I don’t like to litter…)

I suppose if you’re the only coffee joint that’s smack bang in the middle of Flinders Street Station, inside the barriers, right behind the board thingy that tells people when they need to catch their train, you’ve pretty much got a monopoly on the business of selling coffee to commuters. The huge red sign saying COFFEE HQ also inspires confidence in thinking you’re about to procure a decentish coffee. ‘headquarters’. the quality can’t be that bad at headquarters? Oui?

The speed at which they made my coffee was okay. Okay as in not a positive thing but I guess they did have three whole coffees to make nosarcasmandstuff. Maybe they hire faster people in the morning rush.
Also if I wanted to drink stale cigarette water I would drink stale cigarette water, not essence of stale cigarette water in an (although) correctly temperatured latte because honestly that’s what it tasted like no joke. It was thin, it left a bad aftertaste and it wasn’t microfoam on top, it was macrofoam. The only time I believe I’ve had worser coffee than this was
1. in Moulamein — a small country town somewhere near the border of NSW and VIC. Self explanatory; and
2. at Camberwell Railway station cos it tasted like chicken soup. In a cup. Without the noodles. Interesting, but unexpected.
Yes one can understand this is a chain joint, and not every employee can create deliciousness in a paper cup, but this was just below average. Price wise it was awesome as the boyfriend paid for it, but that’s it really.
I propose everyone bypass Coffee HQ if they’ve got time to spare and go somewhere else for coffee. Yepyep.
