Serafino Restaurant

We were staying at the accommodation at Serafino over the long weekend, and the package deal came with continental breakfast and two course dinner. As we had reservations at Fino that evening, we asked if we could have a two-​course lunch instead and they were very accommodating.
The menu was short and seasonal. Some Italian and Asian influenced dishes, but nothing ground-​breaking here. I thought the price point was a bit high, but since it was included as part of the accommodation package, I thought he whole package was very good value.
I had the smoked salmon parcel as a starter. The smoked salmon encased some crab meat. It was and enjoyable starter, but as it was a cold day, it was my mistake ordering a cold starter. For mains I had the crispy skinned Barramundi with Thai green curry sauce. Now that dish was just PERFECT. The fish was cooked just right so the skin was crispy and the flesh was moist and almost melted in my mouth. The sauce had just enough spice and creaminess.
The wine list obviously had a lot of Serafino wines. I was disappointed that the wines by the glass did not include their better wines.
Th restaurant atmosphere was similar to a hotel-​type restaurants but it did have terrific views of the lake, so be sure to request for a table by the window.
Would I return to the restaurant if it’s not included in the accommodation package? Probably not too soon, not because the food wasn’t enjoyable, and the service was good, but I’ve had better atmosphere dining at other vineyards which had a more imaginative menu.

Very nice setting on the lake with exquisite fine dining. Corkage was $ 13 and the menu was small yet very varied. Wait staff were attentive and polite and the food was very flavoursome. Price-​wise, this is quite high however justified based on the quality of the food that was served. The steak was cooked well and you could specify how you wanted it cooked. Pudding afterwards was very indulgent and rich. Would come back again but may have to take out a second mortgage in order to be a regular customer. It was a lovely sunny day and it really made this a special experience. Would recommend.
