Not sure how to feel about this one. Milkshakes and chips are two of my favourite things, so it really should be up my alley but I left feeling underwhelmed, or whelmed at best.
Admittedly I didn’t actually order fries, so I am basing this review only on the two shakes I tried… but basically in my mind, if you’re going to be a shake place, it better be a damn good shake (especially when I’m paying $ 7.50 for a medium (on the small side) shake). It was ok, but not as thick and luxurious as I was hoping for, and melted quite quickly. I’m not asking for them to defy physics, but there are ways to ‘construct’ a shake that will allow for different textures and melting points — to me, this one was a tasty drink but not one that I’d go out of my way to hit up again. And I really wanted it to be that place.

Everything here is done really well, nailed both chips and the milkshakes! Awesome selection of flavours for the milkshakes that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. One critique is the price point, and also the chips aren’t cut and prepared fresh on site, they use frozen McCains chips. For the price you’re paying you’d expect premium ingredients.

For a place with such a limited menu, I expected everything to be amazing. Alas, it was not. I ordered a large loaded fries in a PMS-ing frenzy, expecting something in the ballpark of Massive Wieners disco fries, but they were nothing alike. For starters, they were chips, not fries. Each of the toppings was bland — even the Cajun seasoning. I probably ate a third before realising there wasn’t any flavour hidden underneath the top layer and threw the rest in the bin. The chips themselves were quite good, and I’d go back for the vinegar chips if I were also across the street at Grill’d getting a burger (because their chips suck). Disappointing.

So it’s finally open! After following this place on Instagram for 6 months I can finally say that I’ve eaten here!
I had the cheese and gravy fries with the strawberry milkshake. Both were delicious. This cool place has a great atmosphere and will only get better as it matures.

Make sure you heck out the back as there is this chill yard space that has been decked. What I love about it is you are surrounded two story shops and which give the space a real intimate feel.
I definitely give Boy & Co two thumbs up and I’ll be back.
