Most places in Sydney have now gotten used to the fact that there are people who don’t eat meat. Heck even McDonald’s does a veggie burger! Sadly this branch of Ippudo has missed the boat and only has a truncated version of the full Ippudo menu found in their city branches, and thus only provides meat based offerings. I guess you could try DIY it by ordering the $ 1 kaedama extra noodles with $ 10 worth of vego toppings, or just go all out on the booze and icecream. Actually why didn’t I think of that when I was there? Whilst I sat watching the buses go by and eating my Tom Yum noodles from a few shops down, my friends enjoyed but we’re not blown away by their ramen, gyoza and pork buns. Like my Tokyo-based brother advised me, Ippudo is just another chain, just given a cool halo from its origins in Japan. Unless you live in Japan in which case it’s just another chain.

These is a good found if you crave for the Ippudo in japan! Can’t say its 100% taste the same as ones in Japan, but close enough! However it’s not cheap for the size of the ramen. I would say I can finish 2 ramen myself and it cost around $ 16 each.

The space is not that big and the chances are that you’ll be seated at the big table in the middle sitting next to/facing random strangers which gets a bit awkward. The service is decent(the Chatswood Ippudo store has a lot better service). You have to order your food at the counter and the water refills aren’t as quick as you would like. Honestly in my opinion, Ippudo has the best ramen broth out of all the ramen places i’ve been to in Sydney, and this branch of Ippudo was certainly not an exception to this. **BONUS** currently(September 2015) they have a special for students where you can get a free side dish(gyoza, karaage or bun), so I would highly recommend this place.

Smaller space and smaller menu compared to their Sydney Store. It’s more a quick lunch time or dinner time visit. They have a lunch special for $ 20($ 16 for ramen and $ 4 for either Gyoza set, karaage set or Chashu Rice set) Order and pay at the counter. Food arrived just under 5 minutes! Quick The broth had a nice consistency to it, not too thick or runny. Overall, loved my first visit and would def be back to try the open pork buns!
