Pretty good! Nice obliging staff, great setup in what feels like an old Post Office building, and tables inside if you don’t fancy watching pissed locals line-dancing on the street in front of you or outside if… you do*! (*this guy) Back story for those looking for food. I asked my hotel reception if I should wander to the waterfront, specifically for Pacino’s whose number was dead(sooooo many For Lease signs up in Mackay :() so if they were shut I might find somewhere else eg the Donkey place. If you’re reading this you’ve searched for food in Mackay so you know what I’m on about. Reception suggested I just head to Wood St for the best range. It’s definitely where it’s all at around here & there was a good range, but it was ALL franchises! Franchise Mexican, franchise Cuban etc etc. Oh and a Paleo café with a barefoot acoustic guitarist. Let us not speak of him, and I’m just not a fran-fan. Short version I took my sweet time scouring menus & then spotted Kevin’s. I remember I was coming here last time & got waylaid so that settled that. There’s not a lot of veg options on the menu so I asked if they could do spicy Singapore noodles vegetarian with no eggs etc. The waitress warned me the eggs are the base & kinda suck up the oil so it may be oily. I gambled, it was slightly oily but no worse than most places are on the reg! And when I got my bill I noticed she wrote«extra veg» on there, thanks lady! I like Kevin.

Great Singaporean food. The Calamari is a local favourite. They have great lunches, but I love the nightly banquet. I was so full, and got to try many different dishes.
