Great atmosphere, fantastic opening hours and friendly helpful staff. This is a great place for drinks or some food in a relaxing surrounding. I like the courtyard décor. The menu is very interesting and food was great.

Love Kitsch Bar! Fab atmosphere… really cool décor & outstanding food! They also have great mid week specials too… a decent size dish with a house glass of wine. What more do you need mid week?!

Went here for work dinner last night. Great fusion restaurant. Highlight for me would be their Korean wings and Szechuan chicken. The thai noddles were thick/soggy and bland. Very very average which is a shame when it was plated well. We also had paratha which looked like they were the ones you buy frozen from your oriental store. Not cool. Food portions were decent however they did take awhile and were not all out at once which was annoying considering there were 20 of us. Staff were attentive and warmth which was nice. Always in close proximity and was ready to serve us even when the floor got really busy. Overall, food could have been better with more spices and flavour added. Could not comment on the price for this as we had a set menu and work paid for it

Oh Kitsch — one of my favourite spots for some good quality food! I have been to Kitsch a few times and have loved each visit. It’s one of those places that you can guarantee that you will always get amazing food. Most recently, i went to Kitsch for a work function where we had the share menu, and I can tell you that I rolled out of there! Not wanting to miss out on any of the amazing food, I had to try a bit of everything! Simply amazing Asian Fusion, with a great selection of cocktails. Also happens to be situated in Leedy which is great if you intend to head out afterwards as well. Recommend the pork belly & soft shell crab. Desserts are also amazing!

Who knew corn fritters were considered Thai food? Kitsch has their own way of doing street food. Whether they are or aren’t Thai, I was so happy they were on the menu, because they were honestly the best corn fritters(or any fritters in fact) that I have ever tried! Sorry Mum, your zucchini fritters don’t come close! Crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside, they really were absolutely scrumptious. Served with tasty, thick chilli jam, the table was in heaven. I will confess to you all that more than one diner actually ate the jam with a spoon on its own, it was that good. I’m not a huge coriander fan but syrup was a good balance with the other elements. Two thumbs up! The BBQ Szechuan Chicken was another stand out dish. So smoky, so tender. When I hear szechuan I immediately think«too spicy», but the flavours of this dish were so perfectly balanced that even I could eat it! Coriander and fresh corn salsa worked so well with the blackened chook. The dish had so much colour too, pity it was getting dark by the time we started eating, my photography went a little down hill from here guys, sorry! If you’re not a huge fan of Asian food(crazy people), this would be the perfect dish to order. It almost tastes South American! Kitsch’s take on the classic prawn toast was nothing like the run of the mill, limp ass toast you’d find at your local Chinese restaurant. Crispy, packed with flavour and extremely moorish, this is a must order if you do check out Kitsch. The mayo enhanced the sweet and juicy prawn and I probably could have licked the plate(if I wasn’t sharing OR out to dinner). A few of the girls we were dining with at the event had only recently visited the restaurant, and raved about the prawn toast for a good ten minutes before we had the chance to try it. The raving was warranted! Delish.

Wow! What a great venue — and amazing food. Kitsch has a really cool vibe and I can’t believe I have not discovered this place before, I had the pleasure of being able to taste a selection of the dishes from the menu, and they were all fantastic. My favourite menu items were the spiced corn fritters(delish!) and the crispy skin pork belly bites with chilli caramel(these were cooked PERFECTLY!) — I was tempted to order more. The peanut butter ice cream sandwich was easily my favourite dessert — I could not stop eating it! This will definitely be one of my go-to places for dinner/drinks. Highly recommended!

Love the vibe at this bar, beautiful feature wall art and tasteful asian touches everywhere. I was lucky to have the opportunity to try a few things from the menu. My favourite starter was the Korean Fried Chicken Wings, which was sticky, sweet and salty. The mains were also delicious, and I liked that they were served with coconut rice instead of plain steamed rice. Finally, the Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwiches are so good, I think I have to go back just to get some more of that.

This was not the first time I had been to Kitsch but it was most probably my favourite. I was lucky enough to try a range of their best dishes and I was not disappointed. Every bite of every dish was a beautifully paired flavour sensation. I am a big fan of Asian Fusion food and I will definitely be coming back here to try the rest of the menu. We started with some sourdough prawn toast, moved onto some spiced corn fritters(with the most amazing green chilli jam syrup), Szechuan chicken to die for, black vinegar braised lamb and crispy pork belly BUT the stand out dish for me was most definitely the Korean fried sweet and salty chicken wings! It’s a must try! I would highly recommend the«Lucy eats it all» option and trying an array of these beautiful dishes. Or why not book you and another lover of good food onto the Leederville Food Safari where you can indulge in three delicious restaurants whilst getting a tour of Leederville on a Rickshaw style tuk tuk. I can’t wait to come back. #kitschyelps

I know I am a late comer to this venue — I sincerely apologise I promise to get out out more!!! To make matters worse this review was started back in March!!! Our experiences over the end of summer here at Kitsch were great; coming for a Sunday lunch and staying till dinner; snacking and drinking casually over the day is a WA tradition and this venue makes it easy. Asian fusion share food with a good amount of spice and heat to make you look forward to that Asian influenced cocktail or wine /beer and an interesting yet not too over the top décor that allows you to unwind for that week ahead

The restaurant has a cool vibe to it with a bar area and a restaurant area. You have dinner to cool playing music, under dim lights and a view of the action in the kitchen. The food is tapas style where everything is to share. However the mains are big enough for one person and range from 14 to 30 dollars. I went here on a Friday night. We had the szechuan chicken, the braised lamb neck with eggplant sambal, grilled eggplant, the coconut rice, and the green beans. I had the eggplant sambal with lamb and it was simply delicious. The lamb was tender and soft and so flavorsome. The eggplant sambal was sweet. The beans in ginger sauce were so gingery. Yum. Definitely going back.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here to mourn the passing of the amazing Kitsch… I have no idea what happened! Is it new management? The sign said they were under construction but something has come along and eaten the soul of this place. The funky seating is gone and has been replaced by sterile leather couches and dark wooden tables. The place got classy but lost its amazing character in the transition. The food is good but just doesn’t seem like innovative fusions anymore. I loved this place so much I wanted to have its babies but now it just feels lacking. They didn’t even have chopsticks! Props to our server who went and found some disposable takeaway ones out the back. I’m sorry *sob* it’s just so hard to talk about it. I have to go now…

I wanted to really love Kitsch. It’s been on my list of places to visit for as long as my list of places to visit has existed. And I liked it. A lot. And I’d recommend it to people, especially groups. But it fell a little short of the love I was hoping for. The bar itself is a cute and quirky set up. There is a large outside area all spread out around a gigantic frangipani tree. There’s fairy lights and rustic wooden tables and chairs. Being a cooler night, the café blinds and heaters would’ve been needed. Inside is also comfy yet cool all at once. Bench seats rule inside the long thin room, and our spot was perfectly suited for our group of 5. Cocktails are reasonably priced and tasty — but all bordering on the sweet side, mostly fruit based concoctions. The wine list is quite reasonable, with a few different WA wineries represented rather than the usual suspects. The food was I think where my ‘just friends’ feelings were settled. Everything was good, it just wasn’t as good as I was hoping. Food porn on Instagram might have set my expectations too high? Most dishes felt a little trendy, rather than well-executed. The prawn crackers fresh with a touch of chili salt. The prawn toast crunchy but lacking much by way of a prawn flavour. The beef satay was a novel take, the beef being a tataki style, sitting on top of the peanutty sauce. The sauce was spot on for a satay, but the flavours a little too intense to appreciate the raw beef. The soft shell crab tacos were more batter than crab, but still had a pleasing crunch with the slightly spicy mayo sauce making it more than just batter inside the housemade corn tortillas. The standout dish was the black vinegar braised lamb neck with edamame and beans. The vinegar braise reduced to a sweet and complex sauce, the fatty neck falling apart in it’s tenderness. It’s worth going here just for this dish. Dessert-wise, there was a peanut butter parfait that felt like the poor cousin of the one El Publico serves. Like the El Publico version, it looked like the on-trend deconstructed dessert that you get everywhere, with piles of sweet ice cream, crumbled biscuit and peanut butter caramel sauce. This one really lacked the textural pops and depth of flavour, favouring ‘sweet’. Maybe if I hadn’t eaten the El Publico version so many times I would’ve liked this more. The other dessert was much more impressive. A grassy green tea mousse served on top of a yuzu curd. Chewy and crunchy bits of roasted white chocolate on top, and matcha flavoured poco sticks to dig in with. This is a different take on your usual share-meal type restaurant in it’s Asian fusion-ness, and I would definitely leave it on my list of spots to hit with a small group for atmosphere, drinks and value for money.

A friend and I went at 6 pm on a Thursday and they reluctantly found a table for us. The space is super hipster with trees wooden tables and metal chairs and strings of lights adding to the ambiance. We had the chili squid salad — which was very good — all the flavors were fresh and the chili complimented the dish well. The corn fritters were recommended to us by the server, but I found them tasteless, but tje texture was nice. They could have used a but more flavor. Also the pork buns were a novelty the way the bun is served is wrapped like a soft taco. Light and delicious — would definitely recommend!

What a delightful oasis of a restaurant. Literally felt like I had entered another country, I love it. We came for the Tuesday night special, pad Thai with a Chang beer for $ 15 we also indulged in some entrée items. The Thai fish cakes were insanely delicious they had the smooth texture of red curry, spice and coconut yum! The fried tofu was delicious too, firm inside and crunchy exterior. The pad Thai was fresh and meaty with plenty of tofu as well. I will definitely head back here! The staff were cool and one even made a «that’s what she said joke» and that’s what hospitality is about!

Kitsch has never failed to disappoint me. I visited on a weeknight last week and it was busier than expected, but we were able to be seated without a booking. Service was prompt, although we were only there for dessert, but I have always experienced good service there when I’ve had a meal as well. I love the punch/cocktails served in little teapots, but I have to say the peanut butter parfait is the clincher for me. I’ve ordered it every time I’ve been there and it’s always been spot on and satisfied my sweet tooth — occasionally over satisfied, as it can be quite rich, but I never leave the jar empty and always end up scraping up every last remnant.

Awesome place for weekend drinks n Asian street food inspired dishes. Big fan of the kitsch spicy ginger beer! They kinda cram you in and you may end up sitting somewhere uncomfortable or squishy, but it’s kinda the appeal of the place! The food, if it says it’s spicy, they don’t muck around. It actually IS hot. They also have a cool chilli side plate with spicy condiments you can add to your food as well as a cooling plate if you’ve over done it! Asian style tapas, with friendly service and great cocktails makes me a happy gal, and would gladly go back anytime!

I first went to kitsch a couple of years ago and really loved it so I have no idea how I forgot about it! Until last week when my friend had her birthday dinner there on a Wednesday. They have a $ 15 wok special that night where I got a prawn stir fry(pretty much pad Thai) and a spicy ginger cocktail for $ 16.50! So so cheap and so delicious! The serving sizes were big as well so I was full when I left and very satisfied. A few of my other friends got other dishes like the crispy chicken and dumplings which all looked good. Will definitely be coming back here!

You might not believe this but I hadn’t been to Kitsch until last week *gasp*. I know right. I think I was living overseas when it opened, a few years back so it wasn’t on my radar. Aaanyway… Headed there last weekend with the BF for a date night. I booked a table for 2, a week in advance, and ended up on a bench and stool, which was a bit disappointing. It seems there’s not much standard table seating, rather lots of bench, or low level couches and stools matched with coffee table style tables instead. The venue is definitely more of a bar with excellent food, than a restaurant. All the food was fantastic, super fresh and flavourful, and plated up so each dish was super colourful and appealing. Their salted caramel parfait is one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had the pleasure of eating, you must, I repeat, you must try it.
