The Old Bakery Inn advertises itself as «heritage accommodation» and that’s exactly what it is. The building is fairly old and antique-looking, and situated in a central and convenient part of Launceston. The rooms are quite spacious for the price and feature insanely comfortable four-poster beds and surprisingly modern bathroom furnishings. The owners also have an adorable small dog that sometimes hangs out in the main lobby, and is super friendly and loves cuddles!(but be aware if you’re allergic!) The major downside to our stay was that the advertising and the Inn’s website led us to believe that breakfast was included in the room, but it was not. The breakfast served there is quite good, but for $ 17 per person, I have no doubt you could find better quality and a much lower price if you ventured out to a nearby café or bakery. Overall, a comfortable and reasonably-priced place to stay, central location that is within walking distance of several restaurants, pubs, and bottleshops, and classic, old-fashioned décor made for a very pleasant stay.

It’s cheap and it’s clean. Décor is a bit tired but the rooms are a decent size. It has heating and air conditioning, a nice little courtyard with chairs and tables, and off-street parking. On the corner of two fairly busy roads so it can be a bit noisy, but it’s easy walking distance to the central part of Launceston.
