I will almost say this is the Best sushi place in the world! Sushi Tengoku, basically means Sushi heaven in Japanese and they’ve certain lived up to its name. It is a small store and you basically must book, but food quality is superb. Sushi pieces are fist size, and the sashimi is giant. The hot food is superb as well! Definitely worth a try if you have never been! Note: if it’s your first time, so not use your normal sushi size/volume to assess this place. I suggest order some, and add more later. They are huge!

Outstanding place for generously portioned sushi/sashimi in Kensington. Very understated, which rewards Tengoku with a hidden treasure atmosphere. Full capacity can feel crowded, but every meal is consistently good regardless. Staff can be off putting, but this is hit and miss. Must try: lunch time Bento Sashimi.

Sushi Tengoku in Japanese literally translates to «Sushi Heaven». It is a bold name for a restaurant, but there is really no other way to describe the warm and fuzzy feeling that I get whenever I savour a mouthful of sushi at Sushi Tengoku. Each bite temporarily teleports me to a euphoric universe so beautiful that I feel like I have traveled to heaven and back. Must order: Softshell crab roll. Salmon and avocado roll. Aburi salmon. Aburi scallop. Tamago egg.

Stopped in for a quick bite before a show at fox studios and this place was fast, fresh and some of the best Japanese I have eaten. Very basic décor and place, but these places are sometimes the best. Will be back

Love this place! Everything I had here was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. Particular highlights include: ***** Fried soft shell crab roll $ 15 ***** Tuna sashimi **** California roll ***** Salmon avo roll is great! ***** Baked scallops — So good! They are served in a sort of rich casserole, so takes a while to cook, but well worth the wait!

This is a small unassuming place that needs to assume some more! It doesn’t look like much, and it’s painlly casual inside but you have some great sushi here for an affordable price. Those huge slices of fresh tuna and salmon? $ 2.50 each… you really can’t beat that anywhere. The karaage was pretty good bang for your buck, as was the soft shell crab roll. That roll was massive as you can see, but the picture doesn’t do it justice. I wouldn’t call this a date place unless you’ve been dating someone a while… but it’s good for a casual dinner or group dinner and takeaway.

My boyfriend and I went there on a rainy Wednesday night so there weren’t a lot of people at the restaurant.(But to our surprise, it was 70% full) The green rice tea which they served was so good that we had two pots by the end of the dinner. The service was extremely fast, we got our first plate of food within 10 mins, and subsequently within a few minutes each time when we finished our plate of food. The rolls were really good. Unlike most sushi restauranst, Sushi Tengoku put a lot more main ingredient in their rolls than sushi rice. This makes me a happy camper! Tempura Prawns: Pretty standard, quite yummy and not too oily. Special Volcano Roll: Filled with seafood(scallops/salmon and fish roe), very good. Soft shell crab Roll: Very fresh, highly recommended. The décor of the restaurant is definitely weak. I wouldnt go there on a date or special occasion. But for plain good sushi? hell yes !
