Frankies Empire Coffee House

Very nice little café. Cozy couches and friendly staff included into the deal:) vegan cakes, soy and even RICE milk are available so great for all us vegetarians and vegans out there:)
Coffee tastes great and all the walls are decorated with creative art made by the customers is my guess:)

Hobart has acquired a fair few great hip cafes with funky vibe recently. Frankies falls neatly into that category, but is at the same time something definitively different! It has a much more relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere than any other venue in town. it doesn’t feel like being trendy; it feels like coming home.
The food and drinks are DELICIOUS. My favourite is the hot cocoa — not super sweet like most hot chocolates you might get served in a café. The smoothies and juices deserve a mention too. Then there’s the greatest curry I have ever had… mouth-​watering sandwiches… and an incredible array of delectable sweets, many of which are gluten free. They always have something different & unusual to try, and it’s all obviously made with genuine love!
Oh and they have the BEST. CHOCOLATE CAKE. EVER. I’m not kidding. Do it.
Not to mention, free wi-​fi, good music, good art on the walls, frequent interesting events… Frankies really is the place to be! Check it out, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Frankies does good coffee. like, real good coffee, every time. I’m also slightly addicted to their lemon cake thing, so much so that I’ll ask after it if it’s not in the cake cabinet. There are plenty of other treats, a real feast if you’re gluten free, but I can’t go past that lemon cake thing. (I really need to make note of what it’s actually called. Sorry.)
For techies, Frankies is an awesome spot to do some out-​of-​office work: not only is there free wifi (password protected), but there are bright red powerpoints at table level right along one wall!
Things holding Frankies back from higher stars: if it’s warm outside, it’s warm inside, as there is no aircon or fan/​s. The eftpos minimum is $ 10. There’s no substantial breakfast menu, despite it being a perfect setup for one.
