My wife and I had never heard of this type of food before. Of course, we’ve had middle Eastern food, but Gozleme is a special treat. I guess I would call it Turkish Pizza or something like that if I were marketing it in the USA. Anyway, this particular location in Market City is the best you can find on offer in Sydney. It is run by an amazing woman, who is a fond part of our memories of the city. Not only is the food great, but the hospitality exhibited by Rickia(sorry, probably a misspelling) was remarkable. She had an instant bond with my wife and treated us very special on many visits while in Sydney. Like other reviews have mentioned, this place is terrific and worth a stop if near this part of town. Actually, with all the terrific fast food and snack options(and a few sit-down restaurants as well), Market City is a great destination at meal time.

This place is probably the best gozleme I’ve ever tasted. The ladies making it are very sweet and polite and dressed in traditional attire, the gozleme is always hot and fresh and not dripping in oil like some of the street vendor gozleme at food markets. I could eat this all day, however it does take extremely long. This is probably why it tastes so good, but dont come here in a rush.

Finally stopped by here today after walking past it many time and I wasn’t disappointed. Gozlemes are made to order and you can see them make your order right in front of you. The lady at the counter is super friendly. It’s not instant food so be prepared to wait a little for your gozleme but the wait is worth it. I will definitely be coming back!

Gozleme is a little storefront just up the escalators on the first floor of Marketcity and a little ways from all the ATMS in the corner. But apart from my directions, you’ll most likely identify it by the lovely lady smiling at the front counter. She was absolutely lovely and literally made my day. She was talking to an older lady who was making the Gozleme on the marble front bench. This of course gives the hint that everything is made fresh to order, and you know you’re in safe hands when you can literally see it being made in front of you. In any case, they were laughing with each other and having a genuinely good time. So it seems to me that Gozleme is a family business and has the genuine feel of one too. Gozleme is a Turkish flat bread that is cooked on a flat top with minced beef, or spinach and fetta, folded over and sliced. You usually see this kind of thing at the markets so I was excited when I saw this place. The gozleme, as expected, was delicious. The meat was spiced with so many flavours that it must have been a family recipe. At the counter they have a sign that reads ‘a smile for a tip’. So go on, and make her day.
