Gorgeous Glenelg turned decidedly wintery on the Sunday we visited. We needed somewhere indoors, somewhere inviting, with nice wine by the glass for some respite from the blustering wind. The sleek Eden Dining Room & Bar fit the bill. Past outdoor seating and a neat aquaponics system(combined fish farm and vege garden), the bar to the right is sleek and bright, with cute elevated booths to the left acting as a divider from the dining tables beyond. Straight ahead is a small live performance space, where a guitarist was setting up, and comfy lounge seating. From here, we could see through to the ocean out one window, the marina through the front door, and the parklands straight through the back. Fine views with which to enjoy a glass of something local and red. The bar itself has lots of natural light and a bit of a vertical garden in between the bottles — a garden of Eden perhaps? Eden is decorated beautifully. The hanging light fittings really caught my attention. So did the bathroom doors labelled Adam and Eve, in keeping with the theme. There is a small but well thought out selection of reds by the glass at the bar. Reds are served in nice large glassware. I opt for a McLaren Vale Grenache, and my companions a Barossa Shiraz, and Sangiovese. The Grenache has a pretty nose and red fruits on the palate, a great wine to drink on its’ own. Service was quick, attentive and friendly, and the drinks are well priced. A peek at the dining menu on the chalkboard revealed an interesting mix of dishes which were on the pricier end of the spectrum($ 28-$ 35). A great place for a drink while in Glenelg. I’ll have to come back to try the menu!

Had lunch here, first timer, and was very pleasantly surprised. friendly service, snapper was excellent and the barman suggested a Hine Cognac with coffee to finish up with. Beautiful! Will be back for sure.

The greatest cocktails with nice bartenders! Please excuse the fact that I have never been entirely sober when I’ve visited Eden: P Although, I have always had a really wonderful time there. One of my closest friends had her 21st there and they were wonderful and down to earth during the entire function. The cocktails can be a bit expensive, but if you think about it, you are getting about 4 – 5 drinks in every cocktail! I’ve never eaten at Eden, apart from picking at the few plates provided at the 21st which were alright. I don’t go there often, but as soon as someone mentions«cocktails» around Glenelg, my first thought is «Eden!» Definitely worth checking out.

Well, this is one of our favourite restaurants in Adelaide! My partner and I have been here for dinner several times now … and when she asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday, this was my first choice! Everything about this place is impeccable — the service, the décor, the ambience, the food. Oh, the food — eep! Incredible! The starter of pizza bread with slivers of potato, garlic, butter and mozzarella was so delicious that I could have had that as a meal in itself. For main, I had their speciality — lamb. I ordered the lamb special, which was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and included some gorgeous sauces. I seriously couldn’t fit in dessert(pathetic!), but I did try a bit of my partner’s chocolate ganache tart with candied olives(delicious!) and salty caramel and passionfruit sauce — wow! I had a liquid dessert … a Burnt Orange Mojito, which was delicious and very more-ish. If you’ve only visited the bar of this place, please venture into the restaurant — you won’t be disappointed!

I get all girly and swoony when I think about Eden Dining Room & Bar. It’s just so pretty — the fresh orchids, and the pine, and the dark wood tables, and Chad. So pretty! So swoon worthy! Wine list: eclectic, supportive and worth your time.(I’m yet to venture into the wine blending room: big tanks of local varietals, ever-changing, that you can select from to create your own drop for in-house consumption. A very cool idea — I’m just a little lazy. And my heels were too high). Atmos.: chic, clean, polished, and a little ‘Sydney’. Best at night — all candles, and dim light: sexy. Service: open, casual, friendly and knowledgable. Slow at times: and come the summer months, you’d hope this can pick up a little bit. Food: small serves with bright, strong colours. Imaginative plating, interesting textures, comforting flavours — the chef is thinking. I’ve been multiple times for drinks — and this is perfect. And twice for dinner — and this is A-Ok. I do look forward to this place just getting better and better. A perfect location for first dates, girly dinners, and Sunday sessions. Don’t meet the future in-laws there, or celebrate your G’ma’s 80th. It’s just too pretty.

I only popped in for a drink, but Eden is going at the top of my list of places to visit next time I’m in Radelaide. With an amazing back bar and staff with mad mixing abilities, I’m pretty sure I could spend a few hours here drinking my way through the cocktail list.

Well call me Eve and make me sin, Eden is a bar that I can’t keep my hands off. My experience at Eden wasn’t quite as wild as the tales of Genesis 3 but holy serpant I was tempted by their Forbidden Apple Martini and enjoyed every sinful sip. It was a real shame to see Eden so quiet on a Thursday night in Glenelg and I know that won’t be the case at this place in summer however Chad and his team of 42 Below World Champions* can make a mean and dirty cocktail to suit your mood. The menu also looked devine and if I had the chance I would have loved to have hung around for a tapas board or 2. *They may not be champions but they are bloody good bartenders! Rumour has it that Chad is also going to open up a special room for Wine Blending in the other half of the restaurant so you can go in and learn all about this trend that is sweeping across Aus faster than you can say«so how many bottles can I make myself?» I know 5 stars is a fair call for a place that I haven’t eaten at but I’m like a genie in a bottle, if you rub me the right way I’ll be your friend forever and Eden certainly us feel truly welcome and like the only customers in the place the night we ventured out to quench our thirst.

Eden Dining Room & Bar has been open 8 months and was pretty quiet when we payed it a visit, which is a real shame as these chaps are buttoned down. We only tried the bar because, well, we like to drink, but it was top class all the way. My dirty martini — dry, filthy, made with Cutlass gin — was smashing, just how I like ‘em. Chad the bartender was brimming with personality and personalised service, this dude is a credit to his craft. Particularly when he strolled over with a free cocktail for us to try, his signature Punch My Blazing California Milk Tits. Yep. Full marks for name alone. And double mega full marks for the show he put on, lighting up the boozy jet fuel and tossing it between metal containers while it flamed blue like the devil’s fiery brew. This is the cocktail he’s taking to the 42 Below Absolut Vodka World Cup in a couple months. Go Chad go.

She’ll promise you more than the garden of Eden, then she’ll carelessly cut you and laugh while you’re bleeding. Come gather ’round people wherever you roam Eden is the new restaurant in town and it’s catching people’s attention like a rooster at the crack o’ dawn. Unlike rooster crows, however, this new place on Holdfast Shores is a wake-up call that gets you bursting from your sheets with excitement. When we strolled through the door last week, at that very moment, I knew. I knew it the way you know about a good melon. It was just right. This well-executed eatery is only a few months old but by golly, it already books out on Friday and Saturday nights! The set-up of having a dining area and a bar for pre-dinner drinks is a winning combination if I ever saw one, and the food is ah-mazing. Let me point out to you that the way I spelt ah-mazing indicates exactly how delicious it is! I had the pressed pork and it was succulent and bursting with flavour. This pork is so palatable it’s somewhat similar to ‘That’s what she said’ jokes, put simply, I don’t think I could ever get sick of it. I also had a taste of the homemade mushroom gnocchi ehich was Jupiter styles. Out of this world. Eden also has a temperature controlled wine cellar and blending room where you can purchase an empty bottle and try your hand at wine blending. Now I wouldn’t say this is the best way to drink wine, I believe that winemaking and roof insulation should be left to the professionals, but this is something different that certainly sets the place apart. Great for a first date locaish as activities take the pressure off making small talk. Always a positive to avoid the first date, job-interview-with-cocktails feeling, PLUS you get to drink the wine after which, call me crazy, also lightens up the get-to-know-you process. One bottle shared over dinner ladies. More than two glasses and you might forget that it’s NOT ok to detail the last fight you and your ex-boyfriend had, or even worst, that you will be going back to your house ALONE at the conclusion of the evening. High point: The main waitress who assisted us was on the ball and in-the-know. Very likeable. Very friendly. Low Point: When my dinning partner said«I’m on a seafood diet, I see food and I eat it.» Yep… I am ashamed to admit that no, my dining partner was not my dad. It was my boyfriend. Well it just goes to show that you can choose your restaurant, but you can’t choose the ones you’re crazy about!

I was quite the fan of the old Salt restaurant so when I heard it was re-opening as Eden Dining Room and Bar I was down there quicker than you can say ‘I’ll have a soy latte thanks’. This places oozes cool. The décor is ultra-stylish and perfectly laid out with a dining area, bar, outdoor space and lounge area. I even spotted a wine room in the corner but considering I was there for Sunday morning brunch I figured it was best to save that for another visit! The menu also didn’t disappoint, brunch(served all day on Sunday’s for those not in a hurry to get out of bed) was based on your standard bacon and eggs but all with twist … terracotta baked eggs for example, or served with shanklish(I love it when I see items on a menu and have no idea what they are). I went for the vegetarian breakfast … with added bacon, it was the fact the vege option was served with avocado that swayed me — the waitress understood! Also divine were the juices — possibly the best apple juice I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking — made entirely from cold pressed Pink Lady apples. I originally stared this review with 4 stars but I’m adding an extra star for the juice alone. Yum, I’ll be back … and will be sure to check out that wine room…
