Great breakfast and lunch place! Very friendly staff and always welcoming. The«Big Zest» breakfast was fresh and delicious and their barista makes amazing coffee. Definitely stop in and check them out and the prices are very reasonable.

For some reason, I find myself continually returning to this establishment and can’t explain why. The coffee is decent, the food is generous and tasty standard café faire, but the service is absolutely appalling. Once you have ordered, it’s near impossible to get anyone to your table. On one occasion we waited an hour for the bill. If the company had not been so great I probably would have noticed earlier and said something.

For the many times we’ve been here, consistent. Best Soy Latte this afternoon with single origin El Salvadore, creamy, nutty, soft, deep, fragrant and balanced sweetness(no additional sugar), well made!

Skilled and polite staff. My latte was very creamy with a pleasant taste and no unfavourable after tastes. This place probably makes the best coffee in Glen Waverley.

Zest 89 does that thing that cafes do now where they offer you a choice of coffee blends with different regional origins. You know, the thing where it changes and the coffee has to be made really well to notice a difference. The coffee here is made pretty well, not really well, so you’ll need slightly more attuned tastebuds than me. Zest also does that thing where it has gluten free cakes for sale that aren’t just orange and almond cake(admit it, fellow coeliacs, you’ve eaten enough of it) but instead has chocolate cake for the indulging. It comes with more cream than should ever be eaten and a beautiful swirl of raspberry. Tastes great too. All in all a pretty good café trip.

A new café joins the pack in Glen Waverley. I’ve been here once before, and to be honest, the only reason I did was because my regular breakfast spot was full. It’s not that the place is uninviting or unappealing; it hits all the right notes– I just like to stick to my regulars. Zest 89 is a simple café style restaurant in a prime location of the Glen Waverley strip. It’s clean, sleek and modern and offers outdoor seating. When I came here for breakfast I had a particular hankering for some fruit and yoghurt, which wasn’t on their breakfast menu(despite having fruit, and yoghurt in separate dishes). I asked the waiter if he would be able to make my breakfast for me, and he agreed they could put together my fruit and yoghurt. When it arrived you would have assumed it was on the menu, it was plated up delightfully with a large dollop of natural yoghurt drizzled with honey to sweeten it up a bit. I was very please they were able to customize the menu for me here, it means they are lenient and considerate. I still have yet to return here as I pretty much only go to my regular breakfast spot, I do hope one day that I can come here again and try something of a little more substance and taste. I look forward to that day!
