Doughnut day is now Friday! I think. It keeps changing! But nevermind, the coffee is pretty good and it’s a great spot to people-watch. Just be mindful of the 30 minute parking limit along High St — it’s easy to get caught out.

Located inside Common Ground shop in Fremantle The Banker offers a range of delicious home made fresh donuts. I opted for the raspberry and white chocolate and a chai latte while my friend chose the pretzel donut and coffee. The donuts were so good I bought the chocolate and vanilla home to share. The service was a little slow as there was only one person serving at the time but the seating is delightful, very Instagram worthy and the donuts were worth my 40 minute drive to Fremantle alone. This is a perfect little spot to sit back and relax with a tea or coffee and read a book or the paper to soak up the Freo charm and watch the world go by. I also love the cute The Banker packaging and that each table had fresh flowers.

It’s taken me a few goes to finally get there in time for their famed donuts. I enjoyed an apple pie donut which was sticky, sweet and well flavoured. The texture felt quite light and it was a tasty snack.

The Banker has only been open a few months and it is quickly becoming one of my regular haunts. It is a small little café at the front of indie clothing store Common Ground on High St. The Banker has an awesome little outside area and couches and a coffee table inside. It’s a great place to watch Freo’s diverse clientele wander past and the coffee is amazing. The Banker also sells tea, chai and hot chocolate and a range of cakes, raw nibbles, sandwiches and cool drinks. The staff are always friendly here too which is great. So, if you’re looking for a quick cuppa and maybe a snack in a chilled, awesome environment then you will love The Banker.
