Somes is not the biggest newsagent you will find, not even in Freo. However the service is friendlier than most, particularly if you are a regular — a place where loyalty really has its privileges.
What you’ll find is what you would expect: newspapers, popular mags, lotto, milk, cold drinks, snacks, stationery etc.
Somes is also a dry cleaning outlet.

When I used to frequent this end of town, this newsagent was a regular port of call. They have a decent selection of magazines and all the stationery you might need if you’re a Notre Dame student, without the annoyance of having to walk all the way up High Street to the mall. You can also buy lottery tickets, drinks and lollies in here. The staff are friendly (sometimes to a fault on Pension Day) and it’s generally a convenient place to stop for something to read.
