Bathers Beach

Hidden behind the Round House I only visited bathers Beach for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It’s an extremely sheltered bay (a man made bay I’m guessing). This makes a great beach for families with young children or weak swimmers like myself. They also often have activities and entertainment on in the area on the weekend.

Pretty little cove to walk off your lunch/​dinner located along the boardwalk from the infamous Little Creatures Brewery or other Fish n Chip establishments available.
I went there for the very purpose of chasing the sunset but unfortunately the clouds were not gonna let that happen (yet again), but I can imagine how beautiful the scene would be. Secluded, quiet place to set up the tripod with some interesting background perspective of the dock, the roundhouse, boats coming and going — great place to get your sunset shot for you photographers chasing the shot!

This secluded little beach is nestled in a sandy Fremantle cove and is quite the place to be if you’re after some r and r.
I love the fact that it always seems so secluded, yet, is surrounded by the busy port city of Fremantle. It’s a quick walk to Cicerello’s so you can take a break from sand sculpting, light paddling or beach walking to quench your beachy thirst or satisfy your beachy hunger.
It really is a quiet little beach in a quiet little nook. Like I said, it’s perfect for rest and relaxation. It’s also the antithesis of other, bigger beaches and you usually won’t find big rolling waves or big pumping sound systems here.
This makes Bather’s Beach a top of the list priority for anyone who has kids or who prefers a bit of beach time peace and quiet.
If you’re the type who dreams of practising tai chi on the beach, then Bather’s Beach just might be your best bet.

Bathers is a less of a beach and more of a coastal retreat.
I somewhat unexpectedly stumbled onto the beach, situated smack bang between two boating ports I hardly expected anything more than another loading dock or smaller port but just add sand and this strip has been reclaimed by the people.
I prefer the beaches of Scarborough, Sorento and even South Freo to bathers for swimming but this is the beach of choice to enjoy the spoils of a «fish n chip» feed. (Especially considering the proximity to the strip along the fishing harbour boardwalk.)
The beach is nestled into a cove that allows you to view the lights of the harbour as the sun sets and all in all is a fairly pleasant place to be. I have yet to succumb to any urge to paddle there as yet, but I wouldn’t completely rule it out should the mood strike. (It is relatively sheltered and child friendly)
Bathers for fish n chips!

This almost feels like a manmade beach, a purpose built addition to the already perfect laidback lifestyle of Fremantle.
It is located right next to the Fish and Chip metropolis and beside the prison. It is great for kids to have a dip or just to get your feet wet.
If you are looking for a comfy place to eat your take-​away chips and with some good people and boat watching, bathers beach is quite handy.
It is also a very romantic spot for sunset as the lights come on around the prison for a leisurely stroll when it gets dark.

Bathers Beach doesn’t really feel like a beach, more like a spot to perch and watch the sunset and the boats chug by. As Fremantle’s smallest beach (is it really a ‘beach’? It’s more like a sandy picnic area), it feels nice and secluded if you’re in the mood for some solitude. Don’t like sand? That’s cool too, they’ve got a deck for you to lie on if you’re a bit of a princess like me. They’re also within walking distance of food, with sweet lips, Cicceralla’s and Little Creatures a stone throw’s distance. I recommend grabbing some hot chips and perching yourself here late afternoon for some prime sunset watching.

This tiny pocket of sand is located right by Fremantle’s busy harbour, yet somehow retains a feeling of calm and seclusion. Being so small it’s not so much a ‘day at the beach’ type affair, but it’s a lovely place to sit and watch the boats and the day go by, or have a little splash in the water. Fremantle’s historic Round House gives you a wonderful view of Bathers Beach and the harbour beyond, and you can reach the beach by strolling through the old Whaler’s Tunnel below — in the evening it feels magical. Kidogo Arthouse is located right on the beach, and sculptures spread out onto the sand — this is a beach with a twist, and one of my favourite spots in Fremantle.
