When I first went to Zomp, my jaw dropped. This was the shoe store I was dreaming about not knowing Brisbane already had it. If like me, you love to read fashion blogs are are constantly getting jealous of the shoes worn by all those fashionistas, you will love the selection of shoes sold at Zomp.
Before discovering Zomp, I thought I would only be able to find brands like Jeffrey Campbell and Les Lotita online. The great thing about Zomp is that they do not sell the brands you are used to seeing everywhere else (i.e. Tony Bianco, Nude, Diana Ferrari etc). And before you start thinking it is expensive, it really is not that bad. Some brands are obviously going to cost you more but I have found many reasonably priced shoes here (150 – 200 for a good quality pair). Zomp stocks shoes that follow a variety of trends but I particularly like their range in vintage-​inspired designs — brogues, lace-​up boots and loafers.
I came here with my sister once and we found the service to be great, the sale person who served her was very helpful and she ended up buyng two pairs of shoes (one on sale, one full price). That is another thing about Zomp, they have pretty good sales so make sure you keep an eye out for those.
Thanks to Zomp, I no longer has to be envious of all those trendy fashion bloggers as I can buy my own trendy looking shoes.

The best thing about Zomp is that they sell SO MANY SHOES. Like, I know it’s a shoe shop, but I don’t think I’ve seen shoe shop with so many awesome options. I always end up with a massive arsenal of shoes to try on and then I feel terrible because the storeroom at this Zomp is up a massive tripping-​harzardish wooden staircase and the staff spend all their time running up and down with their arms full of boxes. I soothe my guilt by telling myself that it’s good cardio for them and they probably like it, and promptly request to try on about eight different pairs of shoes.
Zomp has lots of brands I’d never heard of until I first went in, and their stock always seems to precede trends by a few months which proves that they know what us girls will like and want to wear. Even though this branch of Zomp is often busy, the staff are so obliging about getting you different sizes and suggesting other styles you might like so you never feel pressured into buying a pair of shoes just because you tried them on.
Even when Zomp is shut, I can spend ages gazing in their windows at the hundreds of pairs of shoes. Zomp has shoes for a wide age bracket, and I hope that even when I’m eighty I’ll have the fashion sense to shop there even if results in a high heel related hip replacement.

I love love love coming here as this place is full of BE-​A-​UTIFUL shoes.

Francesco Morichetti, Luiza Barcelos and Anniel (to name a few.)
The shelves are stacked with skyscraper heels, wedges and flats
just waiting to be paired with all of your outfits.
The staff are super friendly and (seemingly) don’t seem to mind
traipsing upstairs to find shoes for your every whim.
These guys have saved me from a sad shoe-​less fate on numerous occasions.
(Most recently, sending shoes from sydney just in time for christmas.)
This attractive store coupled with an relaxed environment
make shoe shopping a (very enjoyable) breeze.

I would definitely recommend sussing this place out.

Step inside, shoe fetishists. And you’ll see why this shop takes me to my happy place.
It’s quite possibly one of the biggest shoe shops I’ve ever been in. A Footwear Fantasia. And it has the most amazing array of styles, shapes, colours, heel heights — you almost don’t know where to start.
So I suggest a stop’n’drool first to take it all in, before systematically making your way down each side of the shop, stopping to examine anything that makes your feet curl up with lust.
You might be there a while.
The prices are mid range — so it’s on the high side for a high street store, but you’re paying for seriously good quality. This is most definitely a pleather-​free zone.

Zomp is a shoe wonderland/​warehouse/​factory/​unbelievably amazing place. I saw bright-​coloured shoes through the window and thought, «oh yes, this shop looks nice» and then had to wipe the gleeful shock from my face as soon as I stepped inside because if I have a weakness for anything (other than vintage luggage), it’s shoes. Seasonal shoes and classic shoes and flat shoes and sandal shoes and shoes that are totally not practical and shoes that I would most certainly ruin with a day’s wear. Zomp has everything. It’s just wall-​to-​wall of shoes in the latest styles like wedges and chunky heels, but also classic black pumps, cute work-​appropriate flats, and summery sandals. Zomp is a shoe lover’s DREAM. There is literally a style to cater for every girl (sorry guys) and for every occasion.
For a store along James Street, prices are also quite reasonable. The pumps and wedges that I kept picking up ranged between $ 130 to about $ 180, which is what you would pay at regular quality shoe stores like Wittner and Zu. Plus the styles are to die for, so I would gladly make that investment.
The girls are also friendly and engage you in conversation, but you can also freely meander around the store to gaze at these wondrous shoes. If you’re stuck for shoes for a particular occasion, visit Zomp and I almost guarantee you’ll find the very thing you need or, at the very least, walk out with something you don’t need, but absolutely love.
