Call me crazy, but it actually is possible for a Kensington resident to tire of endless Laksa. Enter Wayo, offering tasty, home-style Japanese food at a similar price to nearby well-known Malaysian eateries. This small venue is not as noisy as others on the strip, with a modern fit out, open kitchen at the front and a large mural down one wall. Munch on shared dishes of edamame, gyoza and delicious fried chicken whilst you wait for your individual main meals. Rice dishes: Tender teriyaki chicken topped with soft poached egg, or a generous serving of Japanese curry– my husband’s comfort food of choice. Grill dishes: Salmon, steak, chicken or hamburger. Cooked beautifully and served with your choice of sauce, potato and green salad. Thirsty? There is a couple of teas to choose from, the usual range of western drinks, as well as the opportunity to indulge in Asian soft drinks(Pocari Sweat– hooray!!) Highly recommended for those people who just can’t face one more laksa
