Average place full of drunk idiots on Saturday nights. Food is good though!

Not heaps to say here. Rarely over this side of town, but popped in for a debrief beer with a mate after Soundwave recently and quite dug the place. Bar-​staff were all real friendly, everything seemed pretty laid back and cool. Would pop back in with some regularity if I lived nearby for sure.

Such a great place to stop in for a drink! Would really like to go again for dinner as I have been told the food is amazing. My friend is a regular here so was great that it lived up to her recommendation. Staff were very friendly and love that they remember their locals drinks order!

I have always been recommended to come here and i finally went out my way to go. I am glad i made that decision. My friends are locals here, so they are treated with much love and respect here.
We attended on Tuesday night for the $ 12 chicken parma and pot nights. We ordered a Parma, Nacho’s and chicken ribs. It was all amazing. Food was quick, service was good and the place looked really nice.
This place has a nice vibe inside, very comfortable, nice seating and well laid out. Drinks are very affordable and thats always a bonus.

12 dolla steak nights in Tuesdays! Massive portions if steak chips and salad with your choice if sauce! Always love the staff they add to the great atmosphere.
Half the bar is a restaurant the other half a bar. Making you have the best of both worlds

Friendly staff but the food is pretty unexciting despite initially appearing quite good. They can handle large groups well.

The vibe at the Doutta Galla is lively. Unfortunately the bar service can be slow when staff are stretched between the two bars. Large selcetion on tap, the wine list however is a little over priced for the more average drops. Worth a go, if you’re in the hood. The live music is well ahead of your typical pub standard.

The Doutta Galla was sold to me as Flemington’s ‘good’ pub. While it is certainly popular, attracting a young crowd up for a good time, there is nothing particularly great about this venue.
It’s on Racecourse Road right near Newmarket station, so it’s easily accessed by locals and visitors alike. Sitting outside is not the most relaxing experience, with constant traffic, trams and the occasional beggar asking for spare change, although it beats the dark interior.
But the real reason I’m not a fan of the Doutta was the service — I had the chicken burger, and while they were quick to charge me an extra dollar to swap the side of chips for a salad, they forgot to deliver on this and I had to send it back. Also on the wine list, they just had the grape and the brand, which is not very useful if you’re not familiar with the brand, so I had to ask which region the bottles were from. The staff were clueless and had to pull each bottle from the fridge to check. The food was fine, but I get the feeling the Doutta is more about striving to be a nightclub than a local pub.
