I give this place a 3.5 Star thanks Unilocal. Been there twice, first time was pretty cool. Some nice old school hip hop tracks which was a thumbs up from me. YAY world! Bar service was a bit slow and nobody smiled they all looked like they wanted to die. Bathroom was okay– had chunder all over the floor but thats standard. I also got elbowed in the eye by some asian chink– wasn’t too impressed. Standard. Anyways– I danced a bit on the table which was interesting. Uhm– The place has a smoking area… Thank the lord– thumbs up. Second time, was a friday night. Pretty empty around 11 – 12 but got busier later with weird people in suits. HOWEVER. The girl who was playing initially was pretty decent. Then it all changed when another chick come up with short shorts that went up her anus. Her music was TERRIBLE. Some poppy hip hop crap. Sucked balls. Thumbs down. A jug of beer is at a pretty good price though, it was only 18 bucks compared to the standard average of 26. YAYAGAIN! Fun place overall. Totally recommend it. It’s really laxed and pretty trendy. There were a couple painters there that night doing some canvas work. COOL–

Laundry bar is an awesome two level club that offers a variety of events inclusive of drum and base, dubstep and even host an awesome gay night(danceteria). The venue is usually jammin’ and has a pretty good crowd. Went to ‘Danceteria’ recently and the venue wad busy, upstairs offering deep ghetto beats and downstairs a little more 80’s and retro. They do random events like open mic hip-hop which usually consists of white guys stoned out of their minds rhyming words that somehow string together into coherent sentences(sometimes that is).

I remember when this p[lace first opened way back in high school, and I’m petty sure everyone thought it was the place to be, and that it was in fact an old laundry. Maybe it was, but sad times have seen the venue disappear and reappear in not so new and fresh lookings. Upstairs is a band room which is busy most late nights, with music ranging from Death Metal to Acoustic Pop and everything in between. I’m yet to see much electro in there but I’m sure it happens. Ticket entry is mostly the case, but the bar is ok too as an added bonus. Your Thursday nights and weekends usually consist of the bar and dance space downstairs. DJs spinning favourite and popular tracks, and persons of unfamiliar circles discovering each other here. My friend met her son’s music teacher here on one loud Thursday night, but they were both in such a state that awkward town got all up in there faces and they didn’t talk much. So yeah, you never know who you’ll find here, but it’s a great place to lose a few hours of your night at least. Drinks are reasonable, with staples on tap and full bar behind. Let le night begin!

The Laundry is one of the few great DJ driven clubs in Melbourne — on the northside at least. As such they have some fantastic hip hop, soul, drum ‘n’ bass, breaks and(my favourite) dubstep evenings here. There is also two levels to Laundry which I quite like. It can sometimes be quite intense depending on the gig, so it is nice to have the option to head up stairs(or downstairs depending) for a change of scene. The Laundry used to be a bit of a dive bar(in a good way), but has recently been refurbished. Personally I think it has lost some of it’s personality but it is still a great venue. If there is a cover charge it is normally just a cheap $ 5. Definitely a venue to keep your eye on for great shows and gigs.
