It’s the closest fish and chip shop to my house, so I’ve become somewhat of a regular. Not anymore. I went there tonight and was told I couldn’t have grilled fish because they don’t do changes on Fridays. Note to the owner: it’s not a change if it’s a standard menu item. Anyway, I went to the next closest shop instead and had no problem at all.

In the takeaway wateland that is Ferny Grove, this Fish and Chip shop is a true GEM. The food is always fresh, tasty and hot. The staff are friendly and even when they’re busy you’re order is quickly prepared, so you can dash out the door. Make no mistake there are better seafood restaurants, there are also worse and for a Suburban Fish and Chip take away, this one ticks every box. Their food is always CONSITANTLY good, I’ve yet to have a horrible meal and the serving sizes are decent for the reasonable price. Give them a go you won’t be disappointed.

On an afternoon where our cricket team was failing and there was not really a chance of a win for us. A couple of the boys decided to gather up some change and head off to the closest fish and chip store so we could gather a feed to mung on so we could forget the day’s pitiful athletic display. Half an hour later those boys returned to a finished game and handed out the packs of food to share. We all chomped into freshly crumbed fish that wasn’t too oily and chips that were crisp and had a hint of being freshly cut. It wasn’t the best we’d ever tasted but it was still worth the little money we could for out. When it was all gone we decided to leave the field of sporting nightmares. But at least the taste of defeat was gone.
