Lezzet

Came here for dinner on Friday. Excellent food/​atmosphere. Tried the mixed mezze starter and the Tasmanian Salmon main. The mixed mezze included lamb, seafood pastry and mussels. All were really yummy. But the salmon was really unique. It’s cooked perfectly, wrapped in vine leaves, and served with date mousse and cream sauce. Lovely.
We had shisha after, but that was a bit of a letdown. Pipe wasn’t so good and flavors were unusual and not that great. It’s also BYO but there’s a corkage fee of $ 8.5 per bottle.
But otherwise a lovely little place. Will definitely return.

Mark ‘The Terrifying Shaprtooth’ and I called to make a reservation at this Turkish meze restaurant, but the dining room was fully booked –always a good sign– so we agreed to be seated outside and undercover, however when we arrived it was cold and raining, and the heater happened to be the broken, so we sat freezing along the footpath unsure of how our dining experience would pan out.
The restaurant itself was rather beautiful. Dimly lit with a black, red and white theme and elegant pieces that graced the room. Unfortunately, the service was poor, so bad in fact that on our arrival the chef shouted out through the kitchen if we had been looked after. And since we were seated outside, it was rare to come by a staff member, especially since it was so busy inside. It took 20 minutes after being seated before anyone realised we hadn’t actually been given menus.
The menu read well and the food was good, but not spectacular. Most dishes were presented well, but the calamari looked disasterous on the plate. A bit of a dog’s breakfast one might say. The freshly baked garlic bread on the other hand was excellent, and was a good starter to warm our bellies on such a chilly night.
Perhaps, our dining experience would have been better if we were seated inside, but we certainly won’t be returning in a hurry.
