Perfect location for Sunday brunch/lunch and casual catch up with girlfriends! Outdoor seating area is just superb. Quiet location, great range of music and overall vibe and crowd was excellent. Ideal location for groups! Ordered Rose sangria~ wow, comes in a cute bottle and taste refreshing. You can drink all day! Ordered small plates, pulled pork lettuce tacos, cured king fish & salted apple, chicken liver parfait. Wow, delicious, great portion size and nice presentation. Highly recommend all these dishes, but particularly pulled pork lettuce tacos which had some mediterranean flavour and little spicy. Amazing and must try! Taco wrapped in lettuce taste nicer and healthier. Chicken liver parfait is just like pâté, but soft texture and it gives melting taste in the mouth. Great portion, so you may need to order extra bread to finish them. Must try! Cured king fish & salted apple was also a good dish to try. Overall, good service, good music, lively vibe.

Same people that do the Winery in Surry Hills, but much more of a laid back vibe here– great music selection(think poppy currents with the best of the 80s and 90s), good wine selection and decent food. Great neighborhood bar and great for hanging out for a few hours with friends!

We came here for a recent corporate holiday party and while my first impressions were not all that flash, they made good in the end and we had a really good evening. I’d probably give this 3.5 stars but I’m feeling generous today and have upped it to 4 rather than giving a lower 3. The good bits? The drink package and the food. Little canapes were passed around and I swear we got more than we paid for. We had way too much food but it was all SO good– especially the corn and chicken in chinese takeout boxes as well as the little gruyère tarts. The bad? At first we had a few snafus that I won’t go into since they were all rectified– but part of the issue was the size of the space. It was designated for 40 guests and we had 35 but we were crammed in like sardines. It got better once part of our group decided to hang out near the bar most of the night. The service was also a bit shady at the beginning but by the end, the manager on duty bought me a free shot as a thank you for the night. The vibe is a bit pretentious and stuck up but once I had a few wines in me, I could look past it all. Working with the function managers prior to the night was not too bad. I had two events on that day and one was super seamless to organise whereas this one had a few hiccups since there was confusion on the menus and we had a few different people emailing us, but again, in the end– it all worked out. It’s definitely a place I would consider for a function in the future.

For some reason my friends really like this place :/ I got excited because the service was MUCH better and friendlier this time AND they had a whole new menu, and apparently a new chef? I really liked the sound of the prawn paella… Did you see my «prawn» paella? I should put quotations around«paella» too, because it wasn’t even that. What I got for my $ 27 was pork with a side of saffron flavoured barley and ONE dismembered prawn on top of the barley. Look at my picture if you think I’m exaggerating. How is that a paella? How can you name the entire dish after something you merely garnished it with? I think $ 27 should get me at least a handful of prawns, don’t you think? It did taste good, but so what. You spend that kind of money on food and it’s almost like they’re mocking you with a stupid little prawn on the plate. Not cool at all.

Stopped in for a drink after dinner on Friday. Vibe was a bit hipster but the bar staff were very accommodating to my friend who was being rather hard to please. She ended up with a tequila with fresh pineapple juice… which was actually much tastier than I gave it credit for. I went for a Giggly Rose which was super yummy and just what I felt like. Comes with two roses in the glass, so maybe not so much for the disconcerting gentleman, but it definitely made me feel suitably girly! Well impressed!

Awesome place! What was even better was that it was literally right across the street from the apartment I was living in when I was in Sydney. It is a bit on the pricey side so only ended up going a handful of times. It is a magical, garden party-esque wine bar. Absolutely loved it!

Wtff best cocktails ever. I ask the waiter for a cocktail with a lychee and while it wasnt on the menu he went all Gandalf on me and made it so. Excellent food(get the cauliflower cheese dish, also the fish and chips were bloody great), wicked music, was pretty busy so I recommend getting a table outside. Best place to start a night out with a couple of friends. A really good starter venue for a great night out, flirting with the waiter has never been so easy.

The open air feeling is nice but you will have to put up with some of the most arrogant Sydney Siders at this venue. The drinks are OK. Girls love the Giggly Rose — which makes me wonder if a drink tastes better with a fresh flower in it. Of course, no one else visiting this venue seems to have a problem with the wasteful, egotistical aspect of a restaurant which prides itself on selling thousand dollar bottles of wine while ignoring its very troubled neighborhood with extreme crime and homelessness problems — Kings Cross. If you have no conscience, take your next date here to throw away hundreds of dollars and feel better about yourself.

A lot of gin and tonics have blurred my memories of the Gazebo Wine Garden, however, three things stand out in stark relief: the first, the service. The wait staff here were very attentive to our large dining party, here for a business lunch. They kept the meal clipping along and when it got down to three of us, still hanging out at 6pm, making sure we still had the drinks we so desperately required. The second, the kooky interior design. The sight of a taxidermised fox hanging upside down from the ceiling will provoke some of your better conversations. And third, the chorizo sausage roll. This is on the appetizers/starters menu and I can still conjure the taste of it via my brain. I would gladly return just for this. I’m going to stop writing now because I’m getting very hungry just thinking about it.

Our first port of call for a Saturday afternoon Potts Point tapas crawl. … but presented with a magnum of Moet for a bargain basement $ 99, our good intentions go up in bubbles, and we settle in for a while. The tuna tartare with crushed peas and whipped goats cheese($ 27) is vibrant, creamy and substantial. Chicken liver pâté with toast and cornichons is enormous($ 19). It’s hard to go past the crinkle cut fries($ 8) for nostalgia’s sake. Crispy squid with horseradish mayo is a welcome zingy departure from the usual aioli. Décor feels Parisian chic and distinctly feminine, so it’s the perfect place for a girls day out. And«The Girls Picnic» feast proves ever popular with the female patrons. $ 40 per sheila gets you… To Sip: jugs of minted lemonade and a flute of bubbly; To Nibble: Crudités with sauce gribiche, Italian sliced prosciutto, and three cheeses du jour. Also, a High Tea Stand packed with petite rolls, prawn cocktail, quiche, mini chocolate brownies and raspberry macaroons. Overall, food is well priced and generously portioned. Service is super friendly and fun. And great grooves will have you dancing in your seat. A jug of Pimms is obligatory — just $ 15 on Sunday.

This is like stepping right into Frances Hodgson Burnett’s Secret Garden, but it’s even better because you’re allowed to drink champagne. It’s a really gorgeous outdoor location covered in greenery and filled with quaint tables and chairs — perfect for a drink date or afternoon wine time with your lady friends. You’re close enough to the Kings Cross action should you feel inclined, but also close enough to a bus stop, taxi rank and train station if you need to make a quick getaway. I love trying different drops from the extensive wine list, but when in a group the jugs of sangria are definitely the way to go. I’d also recommend a few share plates, like the crispy squid or stuffed, roasted shrooms. The Gazebo is open for lunch Friday to Sunday and every night for dinner, and there are plenty of events on during the week, just check the website.

I am always attracted to eccentric and eclectic places like Gazebo which can be best described as an enchanted French garden wine bar. One a month my girlfriends and I get together for a ‘Girls Picnic’ which Gazebo put on every Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 3. For $ 40 a head you get breads and dips, antipasto, salads, meats and dessert. Oh and of course champagne when you arrive! This occasion usually carries on well past 3PM and we find ourselves amongst jugs of Pimms till much later in the evening($ 15 jugs on Sundays!).

Gazebo Wine Garden is a really nice restaurant and wine bar located in Elizabeth Bay. The ambiance is relaxed but still very trendy(you could probably call it ‘smart casual’). Gazebo is very elegant, welcoming and comfortable. The décor is also very cool. Gazebo can get really busy at times(rather uncomfortably busy). I would suggest booking a table or getting there very early. The staff are efficient but always seem very frazzled perhaps because it’s so busy. Popularity can sure be difficult! The tasting platters are really delicious. The crowd seems to be mostly thirties-somethings! If you are catastrophic, I would probably recommend giving this place a miss. If however you love a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere you will most certainly love this place.
