OVERPRICED!!! Really? Pan Pacific… you must do better than this. Yes there is a variety of good seafood. But as a buffet, the rest of my options were very limited. Salami and ham… that was the choice for the cold meats. Mashed potato was like a hard brick. Barramundi and salmon were overcooked. So I asked the ‘chef’ to make me a pasta dish. I had to keep tabs on when it was ready to pick up — I got up twice and on the third time it was ready. Why couldn’t a waiter bring it to me when it was ready? The desserts left me flat. There was a Christmas Pudding sitting in dried up/baked on custard and no fresh custard to pour on top?! The labels describing the desserts were not clear. The meringues were stale. Nah. I wouldn’t come here again. Way Way Way overpriced. Service OK. Food OK. Parking hard to find. Toilets way over other side… you need cut lunch and a waterbag just to go there. Thanks, but no thanks Pan Pacific.

Went to lunch buffet here today. $ 35 not including beverage or gratuity. It’s a very nice restaurant and the staff are very organized and attentive. So far, it’s the best buffet I’ve eaten in Perth, exceeding by far the one at the Crown Perth casino. There is a cold station for the shellfish – unpeeled prawns and split crabs. The crab meat was minuscule and the prawns were a bit overlooked and rubbery. There is salad and mussels and a cheese station. The roast was leg of lamb, which I do not eat. Asian noodles, starches(rice and potatoes), 3 kinds of chicken(barbq, Cajun and curried), a pork cutlet on the bone in plum sauce, salmon in sauce and a few other dishes. Unfortunately, not much in the way of beef to be found. Dessert is nothing to brag about – 3 kinds of ice cream w/toppings, a hard banana cake, pecan tart and some tasteless mousse item made with too much gelatin. There are definitely some faults here which prevent me from giving it 5 stars, but it is(as I said before), the best buffet I’ve had in Perth so far.

The main restaurant in the Pan Pacific Hotel, they are famous for their buffets. It is $ 60 for all you can eat which includes lots of seafood but as with most buffets quality depends on what time you arrive at and what quality your stomach is at. I have made the mistake in the past of going to a buffet with a hangover, what a waste of money. Annyway they also have a more formal dinner menu with plenty of the Australian traditionals. If you are a sweet person it will be worth paying for the buffet.

I am so happy I found a great quality all you can eat buffet in Perth. My boyfriend is from the East Coast in the United States and he loves him some crab. This place has so many more options than just crab, but if you’re looking for heaps of delicious seafood, you can come here and get your fill. We came for the Chinese New Years Buffet and in addition to the crab, there was also succulent roasted duck, a variety of fish, shrimp, oysters, roasted pork, and a variety of vegetable dishes for $ 55 a person. The non-chinese buffet options are much more seafood focused. The buffet is open for breakfast and lunch, but I would recommend coming for the dinner buffet which is open from 6pm to 10pm. Come early and come hungry. If you don’t get your moneys worth at Montereys, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself.
