Mercy Private serves up a bit of an oxy-moron. Good Hospital Food. This is no laughing matter. The food here is better than what I’ve been served at some cafes recently. The level of care and attention shown towards the paitents is admirable and apprecaited. The hospital itself is well present and easily to navigate.

I came here to get an MRI on my tibia(shin bone). If I hadn’t have called them before hand and asked how to get there I would have completely missed the door. Its not at the Mercy hospital, its just a few doors the street and on level 1. When I went in, the receptionist greeted, and instructed me to follow the corridor and take a seat at the end. The MRI waiting area had a few chairs, a rug and a small tv. I was only waiting for about 10−15mins when a gentleman instructed me to a small changing room to change into their gowns(the rooms have a locker for your belongings). I’m pretty average sized(maybe on the thin side) and the pants were huge! I had to tie the waist so tight and I was still afraid of them falling off(they didn’t). Back to the waiting room for a few mins, then off I went into the MRI. Its this huge circular machine you lay inside of. The Doctors strapped me down and taped a fish oil tablet to my leg for some locating reasons. They gave me a panic button, and headphones that played music as the machine can be quite loud. Then they left the room, and I was sent into the machine. It really wasn’t scary, or as loud as they made it out to be. After the first minuet I heard them ask through the earphones if I was doing okay(which I was) and then they proceeded with the rest of the procedure. It was all over within 15mins, I was able to change back, and get my scans straight away. Stress-free and simple, I will return here if I ever need to.
