I’ll preface this by saying I work in the city and have seen many mediocre cafés suffer given the wide choice of quality cafes around. I’ve seen many great reviews of the coffee here on Unilocal and fair enough as peoples tastes depend on what they’re used to. As such I thought it would only be right to provide«my opinion», as a regular CBD café drinker. I’ve given copo two chances to impress me but on both occasions the coffee has definitely been horrible. Too milky, ugly on the eye, weak and lacking flavour. Maybe it’s the barista, maybe it’s the coffee brand(campos?)…either way, as a twice a day«cbd» coffee drinker I was not impressed — twice. I also tried the bacon and egg roll — and that was also a disappointment with hard dry bread roll being the focus of the meal and not the no-longer-hot insides… i didnt know it was spelt«bacon and egg ROLL». Maybe I am spoilt since city cafes wouldn’t be able to survive with such food? I’ll give two stars as the proprietor would have spent a bit to set this place up and it’s a still a great place to «people watch», including the lovely French wait staff who have always been friendly and welcoming. Personally I prefer the«4p cucina» alleyway coffee near chemist which provides honest and flavoursome coffee the way it should be.

Copo has great coffee and great food. The service can be a bit slow, but the staff are always lovely. My only real gripe is that it’s really expensive for a brunch place in Sydney. Don’t expect to get out for under about $ 25 a head(unless you’re happy with toast). Having said that… I keep going back!

Coffee is good here. It is Campos. Very cozy and sunny atmosphere. It is a nice place for lunch break in Drummoyne. Haven’t tried any food yet. This review is only for coffee.

I really enjoyed breakfast here! The coffee is sublime, as it often is when supplied by Campos, the service was quick and lovely and the food is generous. My South American baked beans were zingy, rich and smokey all at once. Their sour dough was the perfect companion to add a rich buttery crunch. We’ll be back, probably often.

Great café serving good food. They have an all day breakfast menu on the weekend. I ordered the smoked trout on brioche with poached egg. My friend ordered avocado and tomato on toast with poached egg. Both dishes were nice though my egg was over cooked. Prices were on the slightly pricey side but i guess thats what you expect from the area. Try and and get a table on the upstairs tereace if you can.

Having now been soundly abused by the moderator of the Facebook page for Copo Café & Diner I now thoroughly and actively dissuade anyone from this eatery. To roundly attack me on Facebook and post quotes from my Unilocal review is as unprofessional as the ambiance of your eatery. I have every right to judge you on the atmosphere of your restaurant as I do by your food. Shame shame shame Copo for stooping so low. Check out my review of DMC to see how businesses SHOULD behave when they receive unsatisfactory reviews, and see how generously I act when presented with professional customer service. Copo you sanctimonious, discriminatory and frankly deluded company I hope you manage to keep it together but somehow I doubt you will with such a shocking display of customer service. as for«banning me»: I wouldn’t walk back into your business for anything less than 1,000,000 dollars. Absolutely disgusting. Update several hours later: And now to stoop so low as to remove all trace of this from your Facebook page(including let it be known, your ambiguously homophobic and/or discriminatory remarks) is utterly reprehensible. How dare you attempt to monopolise your own fatuousness. Accept the bad review and move on from it, or better still, learn from it. You might notice I took the time to write a considerably long review, and a considerable update(this) to the original review in an attempt to be as fair and thorough as possible. Which in some twisted way shows that I care enough to be so bold as to knock you on the head with a bad review. And Copo being too up itself doesn’t see that for it’s own ego, inflated as it is. Good riddance Copo

Basking in the sunlight that Sydney decided to bestow upon us that day, the entrance to Copo Café & Diner was inviting. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle that is Victoria Road, you could sit down, read, talk and waste an entire afternoon in this cozy café. Inside, you are greeted with a rustic interior that takes advantage of the natural light, creating a laidback feel. Having been allocated a table we’re given the menu. At first glance, the menu doesn’t seem all that special: sandwiches here, eggs there, toast over there. But that belies the little touches that the geniuses at Copo added to ordinary café staples to make them special. Having agonized over each menu item, I decided to try the House Smoked Trout with Fried Egg, Potato Hash, Herbs and Toast while my partner opted for the healthier Copo Coleslaw with Cabbage, Radish, Mint, Walnuts and Smoked Chicken. When the smoked trout with fried egg came, I was impressed with the presentation. When I tasted it, I overcame with joy. The smoked trout was divine: it was meaty with flourishes of dill decorated on its crusty seared flesh. Without being too salty, it served as the perfect complement to the potato hash that was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Laced with parsley, the potato tasted luxurious, like all the worlds’ troubles had disappeared in an instant, leaving you there to savor it in all its glory! The same cannot be said of the eggs, which was perhaps slightly overcooked. While it was cooked sunny side-up, there was almost no egg yolk to dip the sourdough in. But, in the grand scheme of this dish, it was irrelevant: simply use the egg yolk on toast, add some trout and these words will just melt away from existence. Making the leap from my smoked trout to the Copo Coleslaw was almost seamless. The salad was refreshing thanks to the mint, with just the right balance of the natural sweetness from the cabbage and the sourness of the granny smith apples. The radishes soaked up the superb dressing while the crushed walnuts gave the whole salad a satisfying crunchy texture with nutty undertones. Overall, Copo seems like the kind of place you can take sensible people to discuss, enjoy their company and just lounge around. With such a cozy vibe, sunlit rustic décor, friendly service and a menu that’s uniquely its own, few places in Sydney can match them for brunch. ~ Jambon Cochon

Great food with healthy freshness and options. Free range eggs. Can be a bit noisy as popular with families with children. May need to queue at weekends but worth the wait. Credit cards accepted but no free wifi when we visited.
